I go two set of style 68 M rims that need good wheel cleaner to remove many black spots. Any suggestions on good wheel cleaners? I heard of hot steam cleaners, do they work? Thanks for your suggestions!

i used to hear that BMW dealerships has a pretty good wheel cleaner. but as everything that is at the dealer its pretty expensive.

i usually use downy, let the soap sit there for a bit, and then wipe it.

Bmw wheel cleaner is good. If you are picky and want really brilliant results follow up by claying rims. You can get clay kits at Napa or Crappy Tire. I usually wax the rim as a final touch. I do all this when summer rims are off for winter...

Didn't the Meguiars Hot Wheels spray have some concerns regarding the acidity? I use the BMW cleaner, its quick, simple, and works like a charm.

Meguiars Hot Wheels is a superb cleaner.

Ian sells a good one at Bimmian, but it's more of a polish.

Yesterday I spent some time cleaning one of my summer Rims, it was hard.

I used the following:
Started with the BMW cleaner, but after a while is started to do weird thinks to the metal table top and I stopped.

1_ I started using P21S Wheel Cleaner (http://www.p21s.com/products/bis_wc1.html) and sprayed and left for 1 hours and cam back and cleaned the rim.

2_Used clay also for all the small bits

3_Waxed the rims 3 coats

4_Applied Poorboys Wheel Sealant (http://www.poorboysworld.com/wheel-sealant.htm) 3 coats

Rim looks and feels amazing (but my fingers are sore)

QUESTION FOR YOU ALL -
When can I find touch up paint for OEM Silver BMW Rims?? Would like to touch up the small nicks on the rims after 4 years of Toronto driving.

Thanks

Wurth makes "Wurth Silver Wheel Spray Paint" for all German silver wheels. I've bought it directly from Wurth in Mississauga.

Wurth Canada Ltd
6330 Tomken Road, Mississauga, ON L5T 1N2
Telephone : 905-564-6225
www.wurthcanada.com

Bavauto also sells a silver wheel touch up pen, but I have no idea how wel it works.

P21S is probably the best one out there. It is not as acidic as some of the others while still being very effective. It is $$$ though.

Your correct, it's a bit on the pricey side ($29.90 for a 500ML)
I bought PS21 for my other car, but after using this on the BMW rims, I'm hooked and will never use anything else, just wished I knew about this product years ago . . . . .

Trick is to shake really well, spray and let sit for 1 to 3 hours. With a damp sponge 95% of it wipes cleaned.

I also had a chance to use their Concours Look Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.p21s.com/products/bis_cw.html) I would highly recommend, goes on easy and seems to be holding up this winter.
