What are you changing to?
If you bought it in HK then right, it's aT630 not T637. Black T630s are in fact quite rare!
Free bump for a sweet phone with great RF. I was going to get it last year.
What are you changing to?
don't know yet ... probably a v80 since the price is getting low now

Where you going to buy your V80 from? local? hk? US? I want to buy one for my wife too. I found out that easycell.com(local) selling it for $450Cdn tax in and myworldphone.com(US) selling it for $229US + shipping. Is sounds like buying from US is a better deal even after shipping, duties. Do you have ne other source? :Idunno: BTW, have you consider V600 or E398 too? V600 has $256k color iinstead of 65k and is selling for $400Cdn tax in and E398 come with 64M external memory and can be a MP3 player which is only selling for $350Cdn Tax in. It sounds like those are better phone than V80 and they are local so no hassle for crossing the border but my wife like the look of V80. :Qboy:

Do phones from HK work with Telus, I know they would Fido cause of the chip, but I don't f they can be unlocked for Telus. I hate my phone...
Bump for the Black T630 for sale by BMW3. How's the reception on that? Honestly. I haven't heard of positive news about receptions for Sony/Ericssons... but maybe depends on network also...

I love my Mike phone, rock solid reliability.
When Rogers and Bell phones fails to maintain signal on the highway. Telus/Mike comes to the rescue. (True story: on a trip TO-MTL with my relatives, my aunt was doing business on the phone, signal got cut and cut and cut.....switch over to my phone, beautiful consistent signal)

Chris,
If you are pondering switching providers, now (December) is the best time to switch since all cellular providers are giving away excellent deals - much better than any other time of the year. Some may continue into 1st (maybe) 2nd week of January but then it dries up a bit.
If you are only using the cell phone in the city, City Fido is a good plan/deal. But if you need anything outside, Rogers is the way to go. Just make sure your new (Rogers) GSM phone is at least has the following 2 frequencies: 850 and 1900 and you will NOT have any problems what's so ever.
Plus, if you are a Rogers subscriber, not only do you have access to their excellent national network but you will also be getting/using the Fido (Microcell) network if their signal happens to be stronger than Rogers (e.g., in some city areas, switching to their network happens automatically).
But if you are a City Fido subscribers, you do not have access to Rogers network. Not to mention that Rogers' GSM is a world standard.

my friend tried this and it worked. called up Rogers and told them about the Telus deal and if they didn't match it she would cancel. They did, so that means free phone, 1 year free on 3 year commitment.
I'm going to try this next few days...
the magic word is "cancel" as soon as they hear that they send you to another department that has more authority to do deals.

Thanks Alex. I used to be with Fido and switched to Telus almost 1 year ago when they had match plan offer. I regret it. I had great service with Fido whereever I went, even out of town. Now I might try Rogers. Besides, I think Telus has ugly phone units now. Thanks for the info Alex.
