I'm torn which to get???
Any suggestions or more importantly first hand experience with them?
I used the AD07s before and loved them and hear the AD08s are improved in every aspect. At this point, I am leaning towards the AD08s.
Prices are very similar, so cost is not a deciding factor. Both are cheaper then PS2s.

RE-11's look like they are slightly better in the rain, although marginally so from tire rack's testing.
I would be inclined to favour the RE11 for the street as you wouldn't fully exploit the dry handling differences anyways between the AD08 and RE11 but knowing the wet performance is slightly better would for me, put it at an advantage.

Thanks Glen.
Turn in seems to be better with the AD08s but the RE-11s have a better ride too.
Im still working out what sizes work.

Bridgestones are heavy tires.............
I checked the specs, the Advans and the Bridgestones are about the same unfortunately. Both on the heavy side, but at least the wheels are very light. Tom@EAS is running 265/30 and 295/30 AD08s, looks killer and will perform amazingly out on track, but will be a bit much for the street. e9X M3 does not understeer too much.
Other option is to run 255/35 front and 275/35 rear PS2s, will be a nice balance too.
Im gonna have to run one set up for street and track for a little while and Im planning on going to Road Atlanta late Nov early Dec.
Have you thought about the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's?? I've used them for this past season for 5 track days, and they haven't dissappointed. For the price, I think they are great, and they are rated pretty high on most head to head tests.

I did, but they don't come in the sizes I need.

Still dont know what to do.
I have narrowed it down.
Yoko AD08s.
265/30/19 front
295/30/19 rears
PS2s
255/35/19 front
275/35/19 rears
The PS2s Im guessing might give me a better ride, but also cost about $250USD more for the set.

Why not look at the Vredestein's - Rumour has it they will be standard on Porsche's from the factory in the year or two. They are an excellent tire and the tread pattern is a knock-out in the looks department. Pricing is favourable as well.

Actually a lot of the guys from the RAC GB are giving these a try. Half the price of PS2s.
Im still iffy on them. I don't particularly like the tread pattern.
The AD08s are much more hardcore then both the PS2s and the Vreds.

Since these two tires are practically identical performance-wise, I would try to do some research into which one better survives abuse at the track. Some tires just disintegrate on the track.
For me the number one priority is wet performance, followed by comfort and noise. Any extreme performance tire is going to do very good in the dry. If they suck in the wet you may end up in a guard rail, and if they are overly stiff they can make your drive a chore.

My AD07s were awesome for track and lasted much longer then I thought they would. The AD08s are suppose to be much better in the wet then the AD07. Im gonna guess that the PS2s are better in the wet, plus they would be smaller.
Another member on M3forum, that is also running Motons, just ordered the AD08s in the sizes, so Im hoping he can provide some feedback before I decide.

I think Im gonna try out the VREDESTEIN Ultrac Sessanta. All four tires will only run about $800 to $850, price is too good to pass up.

Good choice Pej, would like to hear your opinions on them...they are not as popular in Canada yet as they are pretty new, the reviews are off the charts though and the price will eventually go up on these tires. They are far too good for the price point.
You won't regret them...I know several guys who ran them during this summer and they were more than pleased on the track with them plus they are excellent on the street.

We stock and sell them locally. No Sessanta's in stock, just snows...Won't be putting an order in for these till Mid-Jan or early Feb when they annouce the summer program.

Got a smoking deal on some PS2s. Too good to give up. Rumour is PS3 is coming out in March 2010, 18s first. Suppose to be much better in the wet.

I heard Jan in EU, then NA later in the year and initially only offered in 18" sizes.
The PS3 looks more like a all season tire if I didn't know better.
The new Continental Sport Contact 5 P look a bit like the current PS2s. I thought the Conti 3s were actually pretty good from my time with them.

PS2s, not PS3s.
A shop down here recommended me to a place.
I ended up getting PS2s, mounted, and balance for just over $1250USD. The Vreds would have been around $1100USD on the road.

Tirerack has two sizes listed for the new PS3s. They are pretty pricey though, seems like 18" PS3s are priced like 19" PS2s.
