After five years of E46Toronto, I think it is time to state our policy regarding our Sponsors, specifically the relationship to the Editorial purvue of this Forum.
The sponsors pay the bills that ensure E46Toronto remains free of charge. Over the years, the 20 companies that have sponsored the forum have received very few complaints, testament to the quality of the companies and the high regard they hold the members of E46Toronto. We will work tirelessly to ensure that continues.
Just as our Terms of Use do not allow derogatory/negative comments about members, it is logical that the same standard applies to our sponsors. We will enforce this rule to the letter.
With any transactions, promotions, sales, etc, problems and misunderstandings can occur. If you feel this has happened to you with one of our sponsors, please send me a PM and I will try to help in any way I can. This is what I expect as we go forward. FYI, we have rejected sponsorship from companies where its reputation on forums is less than stellar.
An open, free forum is an easy place to react libelously. The old anecdote applies, 'Act in haste, repent in leisure'. Members have the right to expect an honest, fair contract when engaging with a sponsor, and sponsors have the right to try and solve problems in a timely matter.
If for any reason a member needs assistance with a sponsor, we expect a PM. We will return your PM in a timely manner.
If you prefer to PM one of our Moderators rather than me, they are a wonderful, disparate bunch. They will be very happy to help.
