Hey Rockstar,
Just to let you know, I picked up a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder with 100,000 miles for $4K. Mint condition inside and outside, couldn't let it go, as I need a winter beater so why not a fully functioning 4x4.

...a little context before I get to my question (you know how much I love to talk). I made the following mistakes in this purchase:
1) didn't get it inspected before paying (I don't trust anyone down here)
2) didn't confirm it passed the emissions test
3) didn't test drive it on the highway
So after 2 test drives on city streets, everything was mint (drive and sound) so I took it last Thursday. On my way home (3rd time I'm in the car) the Check Engine Light goes on. As I get on the highway up to 60mph, the steering wheel wobbles like crazy. When I get to the DMV to transfer ownership (bought it at a mom & pop dealer), I find it hasn't passed emissions. On top of that, there's a rattle under the chassis (sounds like it's right under my seat/between the front seats) with every rev.
My first option was to return the truck under Virginia lemon laws. I didn't want to do this because I had a "good feeling" about the truck; it just felt so good to drive it. I'll show you next time I drive up.
So on Monday I take her to a BMW dealer where I used to take the M and they plugged it the ODB2 computer to tell me the codes: P0300 (cylinder misfire), P0325 (knock sensor) and two cylinders; don't know which ones; I should have asked. Asked him not to reset and I went my merry way.
On Tuesday, I buy spark plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor, oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter, and get ready to do a full overhaul DIY with a buddy of mine. After everything (and unplugging the battery), the light goes away but comes right back after the 2nd engine start, kinda like this guy on a forum I just found:
http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/pathfinder/3219-98-nissan-pathfinder-rough-idle-p0300-p0325-p0301-codes-vg33-check-engine-light.html
I'm pretty pissed now so I take it to a gas station mechanic the same day (a friend's place) who was effing clueless and just told me to return the car. I had him reset the codes, and THANK GOD it hasn't lit up yet (it's been a day).
I hope I don't have to do any of the injector stuff from the link above, and the situation is better.
QUESTION: Rocco, do you have any experience with these things? How much do you charge for (a) checking the injectors (b) powerwashing them (c) replacing one or two injectors (d) replace timing belt/water pump/inspect and/or adjust valves.
Thanks man...if the problem persists I'm thinking of just driving the 1,000 kms to see you!!! MISS YOU!!! and my M :(
