Just wanted to ask you guys a question regarding this, I currently have an alpine unit in my honda, it's fairly new (less than 6 months old), and I believe it's the step down model from this one, I believe CDA 9830 if I can recall correctly. Basically the same unit but without the ability to change colours. I was wondering if I was to keep it after selling the honda to install into the future bimmer, will I still have stearing wheel controls working on it? Also will it bring the HK to life sound-wise or are there problems integrating the HK amp with aftermarket headunits. I know this has probably been discussed before however I can never really get a straight answer for this. BTW that looks really nice with the adaptor in my opinion, looks clean.

Alpine has its own ipod adapter kit for its decks, its better than the BMW one because it displays the song info on the deck and allowes you to select folders via remote and deck buttons.

yeah your unit will work on your future bmw but your steering wheel control will not work unless u get an adaptor for it which is around $150 if i remember correctly
