Thanks Ron.

1 and 2 are being discussed. Hopefully, we'll have an answer for you in the next day or so. No. 3 will not be happening at this time.

Cheers...

Thanks for all the suggestions & ideas guys. Keep'em comin. As the site is about only a day old, there's still lot of tweaking happening to improve the site to make e46 owners feel at home. So thanks for everybodys' patience.

since i was new to TuningEmotion and really couldn't give two squirts-o-piss with respect to forum loyalty... let me ask this question...

how are you guys (the core e46 crew from TE) going to manage being on two forums (TE and e46toronto) if at all? i visit many forums but perhaps the GTA e46 community isn't big enough for two forums. may be spreading the thread topics thin and seeing too many overlaps in conversation between forums. they were already kinda thin at TE that I started reading the Porsche forums too! :) hope that's not too touchy a topic. just found it odd is all. :(

I already visit these forums because of the community that they serve (and remember that these are just my humble opinions)

e46fanatics is THE e46 forum
bimmerfest is THE bimmer forum
maxbimmer is the bimmer forum for GTA
tuning emotion is(or was?) the e46 forum for GTA

e46toronto.ca was created for Chris and myself. If we posted here alone we'd be happy. Looks like we don't have that 'problem'. We have no hidden agenda. We would like to promote e46s in the GTA and Team Premier. No more, no less. If people like our vision and want to be part of our community, great. If not, no problem. People can post elsewhere...

Your opinions are valued and taken into consideration. It's maybe a touchy topic however, your opinion does raise question.
Anthony & I felt, TE is a great forum however spread too far across the board. We wanted to dedicate a forum just for E46 and seeing there is a quite a large group of us and still undiscovered one's in Toronto, we wanted to focus on a direction.
The overlapping on threads will be the members decision if they choose to participate in both forums. But the focal point of e46 is here, and only here.
The e46 GTA community maybe small at present but it is getting bigger and as stated earlier, there are still many undiscovered e46 enthusiasts out there. Thanks though Mark. We are listening. ;)

Good points Mark,

As a long time member of all the boards in the GTA and the US, It is refreshing to see the E46Toronto name rise up from the ashes again with a .CA extension.

I do agree the E46Fanatics is THE board for anything and everything. Max is mostly E30's and E36's with a smattering of E46's there. If you have been to a Max meet, you would realise that Max is geared to a different type of enthusast and age group. Not to generalise but parking lot burnouts and high speed parking lot runs are not our style.

TE was and is a great board but the overall vision and direction of the group was just lost. It was another group within TE that brought out the friendship and organized the meets/GB's/BBQ's/cruises with no actual benifit to themselves and with no input or leadership from TE.

As just another member here, I can and have already seen the hard work and dedication of the board mods. The best is yet to come! :)

Everything looks great. What a job you guys did setting the board up!

I do have a suggestion though, does that picture on the top of the page show Chris' car with his "long-lost" ambers? Should probably change that. :D

certainly this move *appears* to fragment the community especially to someone new to TE - like me - watching from the outside. but never intended to question anyone's intentions. just wanted to know where i was gonna find the critical mass of GTA e46 forum goers and where i would therefore spend more of my browsing time finding relevant threads from local e46 owners.

i hear ya. i'd been on e46fanatics, roadfly, and a couple other bimmer boards since 2001 (befire and after i stepped into my first e46 - a topaz 325ci - back then i was known as Mark325CiTopaz)... i even visited e46toronto back in the day - but again never found critical mass there to keep me re-visiting. TE was interesting in that i was finding that critical mass was building.

no need to belabor the point - certainly best of luck and good work on the new e46toronto! :)

btw,
i'm a supporter for the "more smilies" initiative.
also, how 'bout a member's gallery - kinda like on e46fanatics?

Mark that was you back then "Mark325CiTopaz" :)
I remember that screen name.

Look what you're driving now

I think most of the vocal E46 community will continue here. Even in E46Toronto and TE the pas members have come and gone away... :( Even the hardcore members from last year are not arround anymone.

I share the same concern expressed by dutty_mark3. I do go to e46fanatics, roadfly, bimmerfest, and bimmerforums a lot but I really am looking to share information and discuss ideas with local E46ers. I am very much into DIY modding and I am willing to share my experiences but also need other's help in my DIY projects. Althought the other forums help quite a bit, I believe there is no substitute to sharing with people close by. There is no substitute to learning by "show and tell".

I hope that the critical E46 mass settles in one forum. There is definitely not enough members to spread amongst two boards. I just recently pointed one of the E46ers I met recently to TE and now I have to tell him there's another board to watch.

I will do my best to participate in both until one becomes a place the critical mass settles in.

Best of luck... and as usual, keep on modding!!!!
