It's a straight forward installation. Almost plug n play. Literally.
Two installation questions I hope someone can research:?
1. I have seen some instructions that call for the removal of some headlight vent, why and how do you do this?
2. What is the best way to leave the kidney grille vent? leave bent extention piece on or off? ie so it directs air over the engine or bends it towards the intake?

1. You only need to remover the bumper when installing the Dinan CAI which is right behind the front bumper for cold air
2. Leave the kidney grill will helps more cold air coming from the vent, but I think only ECIS has the heat-shield which can use with the bent extention piece.
Gruppe M design is to use carbon fiber shield to reduce the heat from the engine bay

I know you dont have to remove the bumper for the Gruppe M install, you must not understand what I had asked on either question?

Gentlemen, I spoke to Christyles about this yesterday...he has been very busy for the last two weeks, no days off, let alone organizing the GB...
He'll get to the 15 dollar refunds shortly...
Also remember that there MAY be additional brokerage/duty, so you MAY end up owing Chris a few more bucks, even with the $15 in price reduction ...
Audio> A bit off-topic, but DAMN! I do love your latest sig ... is that taken with stock or 8000K xenons? Looks absolutely awesome ...

Dw1, thank you for reminding everybody about that.
I just got my springs today... $65 brokerage.
People who paypald me have been refunded.
Those who paid in cash/cheque will be refunded the same way. But most likely I will return cash back - assuming nothing is owed after brokerage.

you and the rest of us.
I'm the one that's gonna receive the boxes, I'll see it as one big amount (hopefully not) and I have to shell out for it t once.
So if there is a charge.... ya'll better pay up because this is the last group buy that I'm organizing and getting dinged on. :(
All the other group buys in the past I've always gotten dinged... damn brokers.
Regardless, can't wait to get the intake. Excited to hear how it will sound.

Quick Question:
When installing the gruppe M:
should you leave part #14 on or take out? (I know part #11 is removed)
I would think leaving it on would direct more cool air over the intake area, keeping the gruppm heat shield cooler :Idunno:

So take out both parts #11 and #14
what is the reasoning for taking off part #14? :Idunno:

OK np, what is it for exactly? Like the main benefits?
Most stock vehicle air intakes are restrictive and take in hot engine air.
An engine needs to breathe.
Hot air is more dense than cold air so cold air is better for the engine. So most intakes come with some sort of heat shield which blocks off engine heat. Most intakes also come with a more free flowing and larger air filter which takes in air more easily.
Most intakes provide any where between 3-15 horsepower gains and 3-15 ft/lb torque gains. But most purchase them for the sound that they make which is a growl/whistle/sucking air sound which compliments the engine and exhaust.

I know everyody is getting impatient including myself.... but please continue to be patient.
There is a process involved in Group Buys suchs clearing times with payments, payments being sent out to the supplier, confirming orders prior to shipping to ensure everything is correct etc.
Do not bombard me with PM's or post "when will it get here". I already mentioned to everybody, when it's here and in my hands I will contact everybody. Organizing and coordinating a group buy is not the same as going to the Candy Shop. If some members cannot comprehend with this kind request of mine which comes out of my voluntary time, I can easily neglect from coordinating future group buys. So again, be patient.
Thank you.
Kind of reminds me of my kid asking "are we there yet?" every 5 minutes in the car LOL! Hang in there Chris! I know what a royal PITA these group buys can be, as I've heard it from others ... some people even swear they'll never do a group buy again because of co-ordinating pick-ups, etc. I'm sure we all appreciate you hooking us up with these GruppeM reps ... :yourmyido

Go to NAPA or UAP.... look it up in 411.ca, there's a couple in Toronto. There's one here in Scarbrough.
For the roof spoiler I advise a bonding agent instead... otherwise it may fly off as advised to me when I got my roof spoiler. Mine is pretty much sealed down and never to come off without damaging the roof spoiler.

Chris sent the draft last week registered. Had to send a draft because everyone payed in different forms -- he waited till all payment was in and cleared before he sent it (many have lost money in GBs relying on the good nature and reliability of buyers). The vendor has not yet received the cheque. When he does, the box'll be on its way, and barring any hiccups at the border, and arrive soon after.
Hope that helps?
So what you are saying is it has taken seventeen (17) days to get payment to the vendor? and the vender still hasnt recieved it yet? nor has shipped the items, WOW

I was just on the phone with Chris -- he's at work and does not have WWW access.
From Christyles: "Vics, I don't want you to have to pay interest on your Paypal. I'll be happy to refund your money when I get home. There are three or four on the waiting list for one and will take your spot. Please PM me to confirm. Thanks. Chris"

I'm closing this thread.
Chris specifically wanted you to PM because of US patent issues. Please do so. He'll return your PMs promptly.
I know he's as anxious as you to get the CAIs here and installed...
:)
Original post from christyles:

Vics... check your Pm.
On a more stern note... I understand everybody's anxiety to receive a product at such a great price however, organizing such buys is A REAL PAIN IN THE ASS. So continue to bear with me.
When a GB was done on Phosphyre Halos last summer, and there were 10+ of us... there were also delays and eventually members got them. Not too mention the organizer actually had to chase people around for money while he was paying interest on his credit card.
So I will reiterate and I don't mean to be an arsehole about this... but the next person that even asks me "is my CAI here yet...?" which is annoying as "Are we there yet?". I will refund you your money via paypal or send you a cheque to your mailing address without notice and your CAI will be sold to a list of other's who missed out and are still in search of the same deal.
Othewise... thank you to all who have been patient and understanding with current circumstances.

CAI's should be here May 13th assuming no delays at borders.
3 will be delayed.... (1 330 & 2 non-m3) for unamed reasons.
Now i've done everythin I could possibly do to coordinate a hassle free transfer through the border with the supplier with this large order as much as possible to avoid or at the very least reduce brokerage fees.
Again... thank you for you patience and will contact everybody upon arrival.

The CAIs have arrived in Mississauga, according to tracking. Chris is expecting them at Premier today or tomorrow. He'll PM you when to pick up. Or, check the thread.
The second shipment of 3 CAIs and my strut bar is following. Should be here mid week...stay tuned...:)
Easy, 10 minute install, then you'll rockin' and rollin'...great sound, smoooooth power band...more power!!!

Finally.... the CAI's came in today.
thanks for everybody's patience.
3 units have been delayed along with Audiophilias' ACS front strut bar. Will be here very shortly.
As I was not home to receive the shipment, Fedex will mail me an invoice of the brokerage fee. As you can see by the pics, i tried my best and hoping that it would work to save on "brokerage rapage" by claiming the shipment as a bulk RMA shipment. We'll see if it works. Once I receive the invoice from Fedex, I will divi it up amongst the buyers and through honour system, I expect the members to ensure i receive payment for the brokerage. Thank you.
The order of recipients will go based according to how fast I received your payments.
I will be home all weekend during the day between 8am-4pm. The times are non-negotiatable, nor will I get my ass outta bed to give you your intake at 1am for whatever reason. And I will not meet you halfway as this has been a headache and a half of a group buy.
The following members may come by to pick it up.
kerisabe 323
Lcyung 330
dw1 320
Kazuya4 330 (will ship out to you in Montreal on Saturday).
Vics 330
