Here is the original post from Paul Roach:
"E46toronto.ca members,
I was fortunate enough to see a new e90 a few weeks ago on a BMW pre-launch trip. I think the new vehicle is going to be a phenomenal successor to the e46. BMA Autohaus will be holding a launch party on May 7th, from 1pm to 5pm, and I would like to invite any of the e46 team to come join us. I would ask that anyone interested in joining should email an invitation address to proach@bmwautohaus.ca.
1nsider (aka Paul Roach, General Sales Manager)"
I have a call into Paul to pick up a few invitations for the email stragglers, like me! PM me if you need one.

We'll be meeting at noon. Please bring your FRSs...channel 7. Buy batteries, please:)
To be determined:
Meet location
Cruz location
Dinner location
As the launch is from 1-5, we'll probably be leaving well before 5. My suggestion is to cruz, then dinner, then if anybody has anymore energy, cruz down to Niagara Falls for some gambling at Fallsview.
If you are staying for dinner, please PM me by Monday. We'll make reservations. Let's make this the first BIG EVENT of the summer. Pray for good weather.
Pej, what's the name of the mall you suggested for the meet up (Loblaws, Yonge and Steeles)? Ta!
Cruz suggestions:
Well, we could do the grandaddy, up at the Forks. Then cruz down to TJs for the best wings, not too expensive, which'll set up the late nite cruz for the gamblers.
Stax's friend is bringing his vid...should be a superb event. Audiophilia.com will host the vid.
Please leave the 'oh that's not central, that's too west. that's not east' blah blah for another time. This is a drivers' event, a day meant for fun and driving...thanks in advance for that...
So, PM me for invites (I"ll know if I get them today) and for CONFIRMED dinner. Many thanks, guys.
BTW, your significant other and family members are very welcome.
Now what are you waiting for, PRAY for sun...:thumbsup:

meet location: I would say the Loblaws on the south side of Steeles at Center Point Mall. or the Toys R Us parking lot on the north side of Steeles. Both lots are huge and can hold over 100 cars easily...
The Toys R Us might be better as that way we don't have to cross the street to get to Autohaus...
sounds great... will be in for dinner too.
dunno if i will cruz up there w. u guys as i have to write SAT's that morning
depends wut time you guys plan to leave i will meet u there... in 4 the cruz after and 4 the dinner tooo....
my dad mite join us for the launch, ill see if i can get him to bring his car
should be awesome
BTW... dunno how far ppl want to cruz but we could cruz to niagara falls 4 dinner. there is an awesome TGIFs ther
just a suggestion

Who's paying for all the expensive 94 Oct gas we gonna need all the way to niagara?
ill pay my way...
94?? is that wut u use
been using 87 all this time... that might explain that clunking noise comin from the engine
j/k
in all seriousness:
put some 91 in ther and u shud b fine
factory reccomends 89 so 91 is perfectly fine for excess "spirited" driving
wait till monday nite... always cheap
i do a lot of commuting mississauga to toronto everyday 40k each way... so i kno wher to get cheap gas in the city and mississauga... PM ur approx location and i can tell u
sorry have no idea about scarboro

BMW's is optimized for 91 octane as that's the most readily available highest octane in Canada. 94 is only from Sunoco.
91 will be fine.
Stax... I'll teach you about Scarborough. ;)

Actually 87 and 89 will make your engine knock!
91 is made for it, but 94 will make it run clean and rich.
I think I have figured out the air noise that is normal and why it is louder in my car!
The reason is due to 94 gas. The air noise is from the air pump acording to BMW, and the air pump is for emissions!
So when you put 94 and the map in your computer is for 91, the engine will run rich, so the computer senses this and puts more air in it, hense air pump works more and louder!
Give me a few years on these e46's I will write a theory book about them!

Lower than 91 will not make you knock. The engine will retard the timing and you will lose power, that's it. Anything above 91 will not improve performance unless you’ve done some software upgrades.
Sunoco 94 is a waste of money in my opinion unless you are running software or have an M3. This has been beaten to death before but I'll repeat that Sunoco adds up to 10 percent ethanol to their fuels. This increases octane and reduces emissions and also reduces the amount of energy released during combustion. So 94 is actually worse in most cases when it comes to performance. But if you like to pollute less then go for it.
The air pump is for emissions but it only runs at startup when the engine is cold. After the car warms up it does not run.

Parking will be a zoo. There will be valet, but they are expecting 800 people over the 4 hour event. The speech is at 1:30. We will be present for that.
Afterwards, cruz to Forks, Niagara, whatever you decide...any other suggestions will be great. Stax, is your buddy bringing his vid for sure?
Other dinner suggestions are welcome, too.
So far we have dinner at Turtle Jacks after Forks cruise, dinner in Niagara Falls after cruz, etc...
So, let's make this an EVENT.
The day has been booked for two months. Clear your day and spend it enjoying BMWs, cruzing and feasting...
The Autohaus GSM and Miss and Maranello love the site and the way the members post...they are looking forward to meeting you all...

Make him an offer he can't refuse.
If he won't commit, I'll have to look after getting a video. I'd rather not as I'm going to be pretty busy that day.
Let me know...cheers.

Hey guys. Is there still room for signing up for this thing? My schedule just opened up (well, 80% chance), and want to sign up for the launch party part. I can't make the dinner or cruise I don't think, but the launch should be ok.
If I can still sign up, please let me know.
Thanks

I'm in for the cruze and dinner if it's in the GTA; just as long as you don't force me to use Ultra94. :blaaaa: Probably bringing the wife too.
I can't believe I posted on fuel in this thread. 20 lashes for going off topic. snap

She would not last that long! 12pm + cruz + early dinner, yes. Hanging around the Falls to gamble all night, no. She is working weekdays in Calgary for 2 months so she would consider a few hours with no kids a bonus.
have we decided where we are goin 4 dinner or will we decide on the spot
i kno of this one place i went to last year near the forks... i think it wuz called woodlands or something, i can find out... food was absolutley amazing but pretty pricey tooo... i dun have too much spendin money but if ppl really want... we can go there...
if we are in the forks... i kno a couple of good eats in Mississauga as well
or we could cruise down to Niagara and eat there
FYI.. i will be meeting u guys staight @ Autohaus... will find u guys there
i cannot drive up there with u guys as i have something to do in the morning.. hopefully should finish by about 12:30 ... pick up my friend with the vid and will get there by 1:15 -1:30 traffic permitting
