I've never used Zaino but heard so many good things, I can't ignore it. I've been using PS2 wax and love it, easy to take off and doesn't stain rubber.
Zaino is a polymer and not a wax so the upside is it lasts longer than wax, but would like to hear the opinions on the differences between a good wax versus Zaino.
I would think also that Zaino works better for different color cars (maybe black) than others and same goes for wax?
Just trying to decide whether to take the plunge and get Zaino'd

Uh oh, here we go again...
I do the complete Zaino thing usually bi-annually. Usually after a wash, I use Z6 to touch up.
What are you looking for in terms of depth? (The deepest show car shine possible, or super clean shine?)
How often do you wax?
How long do you spend waxing?
Do you have a budget?
Do you park often in the sun/outdoors?

Love Zaino. Easy to put on...the more you put on the better the shine. Much better than a lot of waxes out there.
Started to use Pinnacle Souveron after some close inspection and 'detail offs' with Christyles. IMO, Pinnacle is much better because of the depth of shine...
YMMV...
They are both expensive...

I am happy with super clean shine, my car is never in show car shine condition anyway, but I do appreciate a deep shine too...

Not long and not very often...I'm a lazy mofie when it comes to making my cars concours/show condition. I think I wash the car maybe 3x month in summer, less in winter (I know, sacriligeous, but don't hate me)

No budget really, but I assume this kind of stuff isn't going to cost more than $100-200? Car is parked indoors pretty much all the time and at work I have underground parking

Have used both now...Zaino is better for long lasting and gives a silvery shine to a car but Pinnacle is better for depth for dark cars and red. Zaino gave my car a nice flat shine last year but no depth. Pinnacle gives it a really wet-black look now.
Your car is steel grey so it may not matter which one you use and Zaino lasts longer. Try them both to see.

yah, since my car is SG, I figure it's equal for wax/Zaino. I like the long lasting part since I'm a laziemofo, so that might do it for me...

I never tried zaino but wouldn't mind trying it. I've been using premium zymol wax now and really like the results. Does anyone know if there's a difference?

There are lots of Zymol waxes. From fairly inexpensive to over $2000.00!!!
Most stuff is very good. Each guy likes one and usually sticks with it. From my experiences, I really like Zaino and love the Pinnacle Souveron.
I do not like the garden variety Zymol. I was singularly unimpressed. Not a lover of Klasse, either.
But like wine, cars, and women, everybody's taste is different, thank goodness! Check out e46 photography forum or e46fanatics showcase...you'll get some good ideas. Saturday's meet'll have some fancy rides...

Pinnacle for the dark paint finish.... and regular washing - quarterly claying.

Glen I found that Klasse gives a better shine and is more reflective than Zaino and that was with just one coat of the All in One and the Sealer and Glaze, you can layer the SG just like Zaino.

I would use Zaino or any other synthetic.
The reason is that black on a sunny 30 degree will superheat the paint pretty damn fast...a carnauba wax will just melt.

does it last as long as Zaino? I heard that nothing lasts longer than Zaino...I have a love/hate thing about waxing the car. I love the look afterwards, but a lazymofie when it comes to doing it...
Chrissy do you do house calls???

Not sure which last longer as I just started using Klasse. to get good life out of the Zaino, you really have to layer it though.

Thanks for offering Pej! I'll do some more research and think about it and let you know. I really love my PS1 right now though...
Interesting, you had it and now you are back to carnauba wax...any major reason?

Klasse is not carnauba, it's synthetic just like Zaino.

So what's the verdict on a black sedan outside 100% of the time? Seems like Klasse or Pinnacle is the word inthis thread. Am I right? If so, whihc "model" of the supplies do you guys recommend? I'm aiming for a deep, QUITE deep shine on the car as I'm sick of the dull black paint.

For the winter coming up, screw the 'beauty' part, as it'll be covered in crap anyways. Go for true sealants such as Klasse AIO as paint cleaner, then layer on the SG; the more the marrier, just make sure you let each layer properly cure.
In the summer, carnaubas will be best, as it offers the best, deep, rich look we all look for in a black car. Pinnacle Souveren (sp?) is probably the best there is, without 'killing' the wallet. Natty Blue is also good, but a touch less then Souveren, but also 3x cheaper.
I also don't see why you can't do both. A few layers of SG, followed by maintenence with a carnauba will work well. (Suggestion for spring/summer) Initially, the sealant may detract from the richness/wetness of the carnauba, but once you begin the multiple layers of carnauba, it should compensate for the initial detraction.
Personally, I use a carnauba wax called "Collinite 845" for my parent's cars. It's a carnauba wax that lasts a touch less than Zaino/Klasse, but is MUCH more enjoyable to apply (in terms of ease, and quickness). I layer 3 of that on, (via spit shineing), then layer on Natty blue/Aquawax afterwards, depending on the color of car. (Natty on silver/purple, aquawax on silver)
Next summer, I'm probably moving on to the Werkatt's line, as I've heard good things about it on metallic paint, and has great durability.
Hope this helps!
All the best!

Klasse is the way to go for winter, if you are driving the car, it last, but make sure you use at least 2 coats.
