The first time I did a roof treatment, I used the BMW Convertible Kit, which had pretty much the same results. The service guy says only have to do it like every 2 years. It is a little bit messier (meaning, the residue that oversprays is more difficult to remove from paint) than what I'm using now.

I do it more often because I like the water to bead off the soft top when I rinse it. I treat it in both spring and fall with 303 Convertible Top Cleaner and 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I don't have a hard top and I drive my car in the winter, but it is kept in a garage. I don't really know how long it lasts, but all the products I've used lasts until my next application. :}:

I may try that next, just to try it, but in general, I'm pretty satisfied with the 303 stuff. The 303 kit was $38 CDN, which is only about $12 cheaper than the BMW kit if memory serves correctly.

In my opinion, both of those products perform the same, but I don't plan to wait until one stops working before another treatment.

In general, I don't really clean the top during a normal wash, I just pressure wash it gently using the variable pressure nozzle.

I think that's one of the reasons I went with 303 as well, guy (local distributor) cut me a discount for cash deal, and I bought 2 kits (I still haven't opened the 2nd kit).
