Glen,
Spoke to Caddyshk and e46m3. And they've almost convinced me to go along with them!!! I just have to do some maintenance-suspension work on my old 328. But I am 80% in. Will formally commit within 24hrs.
Being in this forum's costing me a lot of track $$$$! I still have to get Stalker's money too!! Damn!
So....probably add another 3 of us to the list.
Anyone want to lend me a set of rims/tires??? Promise to clean them up after! haha.

It was only the Mosport DDT. Very small, like a 1/2 scale Mosport, but still a lot of fun.
It was run by a friend who asked me at the last minute. If you've never been and want to try the track next year, give me a PM and I'll ask him to add you. He is also renting full Mosport sometime mid-summer if you are interested. woot
Pretty funny, only about 12 cars and 2 were GT3s!

Im pretty sure I saw that Grey GT3 parked outside of Yorkdale on Tuesday. Full slicks on it I think too. Was parked right close to the door, nestled in tight between 2 cars.

Ya, that was probably him. The guy in the grey one had Michelin Pilot Sport Cup track tires that were basically slicks. He was pretty fast.
Amazingly, the guy in the blue one was at the track for the first time. At the start of the day I was a lot faster than him and by the end of the day he was a second or 2 faster than me. I've never seen someone improve that much in such a short time.

Yah, I've done the Mosport DD track. It's a fun technical track too, little too low speed for me, but I would go for free...
Let me know when you are doing Mosport next and if I can make it, I'll come with you.

How were the Dunlops this time around?Heh...we are jacking your thread. :D
Yup, the DDT is slow but I don't mind doing it once a year for some variety. Dunlops were very sticky and look almost new still except for the outer edges on the fronts. I still have a little understeer with the new swaybars so I'm going to stiffen up the back bar. After seeing pics of my car on track I realize the H&Rs are awesome for the street but I still need more stiffness for the track. So coilovers are back on my list of to-do's.
The XP9s overheated a little too, so I'm really worried how they'll do on full Mosport. I think I'll get the Turner backplates before then. Have you tried the HPS yet? I need street pads bad.

the sways work very well with coilovers, so you should have similar results. The higher spring rates will give better turn-in and allow the bars to work better mid-corner...
wow, if the XP9's overheated a little, what else is there? XP10??? I think you definately need brake ducts if you are overheating them. I guess your aggressive braking style also contributes to that as well. Turner makes some awesome CF ones that don't need rotor removal for $299. Pretty good price for nice CF part.
the wife is away to Montreal on Sunday, so looks like Sunday is the day I can work on putting the HPS pads in yeehaa! woot

Ya, I’m not sure what is going on with the XP9’s. If they worked well for Haegen maybe it’s his lighter car not working them as hard? The e46 is a porker compared to his car. I’ll order the Turner CF ducts once I decide what else I’m going to get from them. That place is like a candy store. :) If the ducts don’t work then maybe I’ll try the XP10. They go 200F higher and have a higher CF. There is always Williams F1.10 or PF01 + PF93. I am very interested in seeing how the XP9’s work on your car.

On a side note, can one of you guys teach me how to heel and toe on the 26th???Oh la la....do not practice heal-and-toe on the track. You will end up in the grass. It's much better to do this on the street when slowing for stop signs etc... then try it on the track.
I think the best way to understand it is to see it. Let me try to find some cool Best Motoring vids where they always show the drivers feet. I'll add them to my FTP server and you can grab them.

Thanks and good advice, I think that will really improve me times around the track and smooth things out a bit. I have seen many vidz as well, and tried it on the street, with some success, but its just not comfortable yet, plus I dont think Im doing it right, lol.

h&t takes a long time to master and for the track you want to be in a position where you don't even have to think about it. at the track I would actually have to think the opposite to NOT h&t it's so ingrained.
agree with Rick, practice on the street (not behind any stopped cars) and get to a point where you can do it for EVERY stop without even trying, then you can take it to the track. the reasons you don't want to be doing it at the track if you are not 100% is 1) easy to lock rears 2) not apply 100% braking force 3) too many other things to think about
remember you are doing alot of things all at once and thinking about whether or not you can brake and downshift at the same time should not be one of them when you are trying to make a corner/curve...
there's lots of explanations on how to h&t properly, but it all boils down to practice, practice, practice...

WRC drivers look like tapdancers. LOL
FWIW, if you do a lot of karting you obviously get pretty proficient with the left foot. I do not LFB though (at least not in a RWD car) and stick to h&t when driving at speed.

Some how, I knew that was coming. SG and Topaz calipers will not match, you need Red ones. You are progressively going through the 5 steps of BBK ENVY.
1. Jealousy
2. Denial
3. Bargaining
4. "Gotta have it at any cost" phase
5. Acceptance, without letting the wife know you are getting them.
How about you teach me H&T and I donate 5 bucks to your BBK fund, lol. I really am going to miss going to Fastlaps, be stuck on a plane and in Miami airport while you guys are having fun at the track.
