HI,
I am trying to buy a control arm from Pacific BMW but have been getting the run around on the phone system and sales people. I only seem to speak to service clerks who dont know how to process the order or get voice-mails of people who I have not heard back from.
Is there someone who anyone has dealt with down there that you can suggest I talk to?

Yeah, it's getting closer. I'd save about $100 bucks in the end. I'll check with Gary's connection first.

I did, but I bought and shipped to US address. My uncle is like my hub in the US, only 2 hours away from me.
Bought wind deflector from there.

Anybody can use the UPS Store in Niagara Falls (Military Rd) as an American address -- don't even need a mail box..one hour from the GTA, just across Queenston...they'll hold it for you for a nominal fee...
...just getting whatever over the border...that's the problem...

YEah...that's where I had the engagement ring shipped to (unmarked of course). It's not far to go pick up. Not sure how much you can bring back without being noticed though.

As I suggested in the other thread, maybe we should set up a monthly border drive to pick up items for the group, eat wings, see football, etc. :D and save lots of money!

the other way that worked for stuff that is sent is get them to put a lower dollar value for customs valuation...but why pay duty/brokerage at all if you can pick it up...

Some people used USPS (US Postal Service www.usps.com) to save on brokerage fees and some even reported not paying taxes.
Example from Montreal: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showpost.php?p=1951776&postcount=11
Another from Calgary: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showpost.php?p=1718310&postcount=4
The downside is that it is slow and best (safer) to use it for inexpensive items. Using USPS to ship expensive rims may not be the best option. FedEx seems to be the next best/cheapest way to ship to Canada things like rims.
There was a post by a vendor that USPS now offers insuring packages online and tracking numbers.
There is always DHL, but it is not as popular as FedEx.
Of course, shipping to a US address and bring it over is the most ideal way.
