Question: is it at as easy (same price!) for a body shop to paint over a colour as it is to paint primed?

I need perfection...:)

Primer is easier. Less over spray. They usually use spray can. Painting using a spray gun and depends what conpressor you are using. It can be very difficult. The guy that do painting in the shop usually paint only. Lots of experience. :)

Are you thinking of painting over your Topaz Blue? or touch up?...I could probably use a litle touch up too to fix some stone chips...damn stone chips... :thumbsdow

well i think if you are going to paint over....lets say.....TVM....you will need to sand down the TVM....to get rid of small chip, and impurities and then you should really prime and resand...then toss on some Topaz and clear it...

that will give you a PERFECT finish

i think they will charge a little bit more to paint over... err... let's say... TVM... as in the previous example by Jersey...
it's just like painting an un-primed item, they have to sand down the surface, make it smooooooth, then apply primer and paint over the primer... and finalize it with clear coat... voila... brand new looking TB paint...
