I have a cottage up in Muskoka, and needless to say my front end gets covered with bugs all the time.
Typically I was my car when I get there to get rid of them, and when I get home to get rid of them again.
Well...the last couple weeks I have been sooooooo busy that I drove home late at night and go covered with bugs..and didn't wash my car for almost 2 weeks! I went to FINE DETAILS, to get a hand wash, as I have been too busy to spend the time myself. I got my car back, and I can still see all the spots from the bugs on my car, and the jerk that works there said they can't come off...that bugs are as bad as rocks.
So whats the easiest way to get these horrible bugs of my front end?
Any suggestions?
Anyone ever tried these (http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?9028) wipes?

I've tried turtlewax bug & tar remover from Canadian Tire with some success, but it seems to require a lot of effort and doing the same area multiple times..
I just picked up a microfibre bug & grill cloth from Target.. they have an inexpensive line of microfibre products from www.vroombrand.com. I'll see how well it works, maybe in conjunction with the turtlewax bug remover.

I have the same problem. My cottage is near Orillia.
Use a pressure washer. The Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover usually get's out what a pressure washer can't.
I ended up buying a car bra just for the cottage trips though since I wanted to also protect the grill of the radiator. The car bra looks like ass though.

the bugs on my bumper have now become integrated into the permanent look of my car. they're my 'kills'.

BMW actually has a cleaner especially for removing baked on bugs from the car. I've never used a better product. This cleaner even took off the haze from the foglights and cleaned better than any shampoo or glass cleaner I've ever used.
I bought mine at Parkview but I'm sure all dealerships carry it.

The pressure washer couldn't get them all off.....
Sounds good....I'm going to give the BMW one a try then....I'll report back after I give it a go.

Give it a try. I don't know what's in that stuff but follow the directions as I'm sure whatever it is, it's strong as hell. Works great on my black Ford too.

I blast with a pressure washer or just wet it with a hose. Then I spray a multi-purpose cleaner I have to soften up the bugs. And blast away. If need be, I will clay them off to. I also sometimes use a solvent that I use to break down adhesives, removes pen ink and tar to get the caked on bugs off.
This ensures a clean front bumper. I've done this a couple of times after driving out to Grand Bend with Jeff 330ci and Scooby.

So does that apply to driving your car into a lake then getting it towed out? :Idunno:
