Cost: $85+tax = $98
The Fluid Evacuator Plus, a large 8.8 Liter (2.3 gallon) capacity bi-functional manual unit, can be used to extract and dispense a wide-range of fluid types including:

• Engine oil from crankcases

• Coolant from cooling systems
• Power steering fluid from pump reservoirs
• And so much more…

The Fluid Evacuator Plus provides a clean, and simple way to evacuate & dispense fluids. The reservoir is constructed of durable polyethylene and will not rust or corrode. This kit comes with 5 ft. of flexible hose and two rigid dipstick tubes for engine oil removal. This unit can also be used in conjunction with Mityvac P/N 07205 Fluid Evacuator Brake Bleeding Accessory Kit to bleed hydraulic brake systems.

not sure about the brake bleeding one ... is it easy to do the brake fluid change ??

well emptying brake fluid is so easy...open 1 bleeding valve, pump the brake, kiss the liquid goodbuy.

To bleed, you need to follow the right sequence order of wheel to bleed. that's all. Way easier with the right tool.

I bleeded my brakes on my old car, old school way....submerge one end of the tube in a container of brake fluid, open valve, make sure all air pocket gone, top of fluid, repeat above for each corner before going to next corner.

Can I participate by contacting the company directly. This would have several advantages for me:

- I can avoid paying PST,
- the organizer of the group buy doesn't have to package it up and mail it to me.
- I can use Mastercard rather than going to the bank for a money order.

Please let me know. It looks like a nice unit.

Just wanted to publicly thank Oyster for putting together the Group Buy and for being kind enough to hand deliver the Oil Extractor to me in Montreal. He even brought it to the restaurant I was at.

I took the oil extractor out of the box and it looks pretty impressive. I'll read the instruction book before I go to bed.

So if anyone is thinking about this, I highly recommend you take part in the group buy.

Nice meeting you and your wife. Will try that restaurant next time. Just got back. Hooked up with local friends, who lived at Cote-st-catherine/Mount Royal, went for a few drinks on St-laurent @ that budda place and had a Frite Alors! poutine....so yummy after too much alchool.

Your friend thought your road side deliveries strange? What about my friends? I introduced you as someone I met on the Internet!

So you went to Buddha Bar? I haven't been. My days of going out are long past me although I have a music compilation CD from there that's really cool. There are supposed to be Buddha Bars all over the world.

I really recommend Mythos as a restaurant especially if you want to go for a good time. Don't take reservations earlier than 8pm motherwise you'll miss all the fun.

Edit:

Here are some pics of the oil extractor and the brake bleeding kit. What I didn't include in the picture are the tubes that get fed down into the dipstick tube.
http://www.stradasystems.com/bmw/MityVac_Oil_Extractor.jpg

Here's an image of the brake bleeder. I'm not quite sure what the black thing is. The system appears complete without it. I don't remember the instruction book mentioning it.

Thank you oyster for bringing out such a great extractor gb!! I did the oil change in the middle of the night yesterday and it went well, I highly recommended this extractor to everyone. Very easy to use, basically you just have to connect the thinner extension tube to the main pipe and start pumping, vaccum got all the oil out from the dip stick hole (it s***** out like 6.5L) I will post some pictures later toninght when I gnd et home ...

that guy on e46fan should stick to driving the car.

if only he made 2+2...and played with more puzzle when he was a kid, that would never had happen!!!

hum....I see a triangle hole.....does a cube stick fit in it >> NO NO

6 point bolt, he uses 12 point socket....and did not losen the bolt by applying a violent impact blow but he probably applied gradual force which means twisting the bolt head and rounding it off too

canadian tire sells the socket for like $7 for a 6 point 36mm socket

pretty easy to use

I think Babyblack is still interested so I'll wait for him

Hi all

Thanks for participating in the group buy, we all saved at least 22% with our group effort.

Any other interested will have to wait for at least 10 people and price will depend on the supplier.

well, for M3 owners, the bigger challenge is getting the oil 0w60?

how much does the dealership charges for an oil change for M3?

I'm afraid to ask....

I just checked the BMW standard service listings which cites oil change prices for all 6 cylinders BMWs...however, the very small print at the bottom (us lawyers read those) says prices for any of the services listed above do not apply to M series cars.

Better bend over buddy

I dont suppose a debadging would work on the dealerships :}: :}:

You save about $40-$45 bucks and the hassle of going down to garage, etc. Do on your own time.

I like the "do on your own time.." part....going to dealership and back and the wait to get service is equivalent to 1h30 so doing it yourself is 30-45min.

:secret: the store has 2 in stock.....1 would be regular price and 1 is GB price. If someone still needs the GB price, let me know, I'll call the store up....but you will have to go pick it up. I have no more time to visit tool store :crying:

Castrol 0W-30 MADE IN GERMANY has the BMW Long Life rating as well as meeting A3 spec. woot

So is it okay to use this product as opposed to sourcing the elusive Mobil1 0W-40?

It is much more readily available so I think I'll go with that when the Mityvac loses its virginity! :D

I would suggest you play in the bath tub with it. find a water bottle (1-8liters), fill the bottle with water

1-pump it out into the mityvac
2-dump it out of the mityvac into the bath tub.

this gives you an idea of how it works and why you should not over pump when dispensing (out of mityvac into recycling jugs)

for the tip ... water is much easier to clean up than spent oil :D

BTW, do you find Mr. Mityvac is able to suck out all the spent oil?

yes since we don't have X-ray vision....the bath tub test only gives up visual reassurance of what and how it does it. When I saw the last drop of water being s***** out, I was convinced then.

I had left over bicycle chain biodegrable detergent (plastic friendly and good enough to take bicycle chain gunk out. On sale at MEC), soap will do too. I think Engine gunk remover is not plastic friendly from the fine print I read.

1-I poured about 150ml of detergent. close the metal rubber thing at top. hold the extractor, shake it all direction.
2-I pump out the detergent.
3-Repeat step #1 and 2. Done.

I learn this in Chemistry class long time ago. I use to think use a running water hose but the teacher whipped me for being environmentally unfriendly.

Good info. Did you find the tubes also cleared out using this method or was there still some residue left there?

The pump does a good job of flushing out the tubes too but there will be some left over for you to clean or whatnot. I figured since the next time is am using it, i will be pumping old used oil, it didnt make too much difference if the tubes werent spotless.
