Any of you guys & gals know if there are add ons for my 00 323i front bumper. I have the one with rectangular fog lights and that ugly double black matte plastic trim at the bottom.
The idea is, I'd like to cover that double black matte trim with an add on.
And no, i don't want an M-Tech front bumper.
Spring is just around the corner...heh heh heh. ;)

1)ACS
2)Hamann
3)Racing Dynamics (the tornado one and there's a M3 alike)
4)The oem addon looks subtle.

the tornado is nice. I like. the hamann line is too aggressive for my style. I have to see Reiger still.

either that or retrofit a M3 bumper with a aftermarket lip
or maybe even the CSL m3 bumper

I have a full set of replica RD Tornado (front/rear/sides) in my basement that I was planning on putting this year but performance mods became my priority. I can email you pics if you want and and you can make me an offer if you're interested.

Because I spent all my mod money on the Shark Injector, Conforti Intake, 3.38 diff, etc..... It's more important to me than the show mods. :Idunno:
Yes it's a manual but it's really a debadged M3 made to look like a 323i sedan :yak: :yak:

How is everything running in conjunction with your CAI and software? Interested on performance feedback from different combinations of performance mods.

Very happy with all the perf mods so far. Let's compare your car and mine back to back since we both have 323s. That's would be best way to tell the performance improvement.

Mine's still pending. and that wouldnt be fair...you have all that different differental stuff with the CAI and other magic under hood that I don't have...yet.
I was actually gonna put my car side by side with db323, plus his a-matic like mine. i know, i know...pfft. automatic, that's what you're sayin.

Oh I thought you said you're interested in getting some feedback from the combination of all the perf mods I've done hence why I'm suggesting you drive your car and then mine back to back so you can compare the difference and get the feedback you're looking for. I wasn't trying to race you or anything like that.

oh yeah right... Quickid. ok. that would be cool. This should be interesting.
BTW, got the pics, thanks. The front bumper...I have to the get the holes cut out for the fogs, and pick up fogs assemblies still right? Plus the additional fogs in the center dam have to added to as an option right?

Chris, I thought you have manual ? It'd be interesting to compare different 323's with different mods ... :)

No. I have a-matic. I do a lot of various driving but mostly city driving. i don't find manual the best for city driving. Even though, I admit, manual is more fun to drive.
What would really be interesting is to have a line ups of all the vehicles in the same model line go up against each other in terms of mod differences.
I know me, db323, Jersey and Quickid all have 323i's. Quickid is the only non-stock performance 323i that I know of on e46toronto.
That would be an idea to do on a closed track. maybe e46toronto, rent out a track for a whole day and put our cars against each other. i mean we always read & hear of performance but based on reviews, as tuning drivers, and people I actually know, we could experience first hand the differences and similarities.

Yes it's a cool idea but a lot of it has to do with the driver. For example, I'm not a good enough driver that even if I'm driving an M3, a better driver in a lesser car can still beat me.
I think it will be sufficient to have each person drive different cars and and each one evaluates the cars independently. Just like how Car and Driver do their comparos.

Ok..we're off topic, but this is definetley an interesting event to setup. Will coordinate during the off season.
I know its no comparison, but being a better driver regardless of the car, would this apply to a-matic cars seeing as all you really have to do is press on the gas and go. There's no shifting technique or foot speed or driver's decision of when the right time is change gears like in a manual right?
The philosphy of skilled driver might, will it? might apply to step tronic mode for A-matic cars too right? I would assume so. I'm just trying to recall what I do when I got challenged...
What's your insight Quickid...

If you're talking about straight line drag racing then there's not much driver skill required in an auto other than press the gas and hold on tight. (Well I'm exaggerating... It's not totally true if for example, you have a very powerful car, you gotta launch it right so that you don't waste time spinning the wheels.)
But if this involves twisties and sharp corners, a slalom course perhaps, then there's a lot more involved even when driving an automatic. You gotta understand weight transfer, slip angles, the racing line, understeer/oversteer, and on and on. Whatever skills you can pick up from a performance driving course applies to both manual and auto.

True that on the straight line drag racing.
I understand the twisties and sharp corners. I remember the first time I tried to drive aggressively in less than straight roads, I nearly fishtailed out into a ditch. Stupid me. But I DID learn my lesson, and knew how to compensate with all factors involved as I tried a couple more times trying different driving lines, speeds into turns, more/less gas, tap brake etc. Also, doin this in differnt modes: auto, step, ASC on/off etc. Of course doin all this with no cars around or people. I wish on a closed course.
