It works if you're car's not slammed and your rims are smaller. But here's my little trick...

Stick a wash mitt in there and clean it down. When it's dry just spray it with a tire dressing a tire foam. It'll make it look clean for a little while.

I do it for shows and it makes a helluva difference. Some judges do notice.

But unfortunately there is no permanent solution to keeping the wells black all the time.

I found this awesome product at canadian tire for doing it. IT's in a yellow bottle, marquits or somethings rim cleaner... you spray it on, and then pressure wash out, it dissolves the stuff instantly.

I totally understand the brake dust is a pain to get rid of. I have been trying on different kinds of sprays to clean, however, it took so long to finish one rim as you may need to clean some tiny spots even after rinse. And not long ago, I heard from the MB dealership detailer telling me about those chemicals will corrode/destroy the finishing of the alloys, true or not, I guess it will be a long term thing to proof unless you used them frequently. Recently, I've tried the MrClean's Eraser, just wet the eraser, wipe and clean. It works great and shorten the clean up time at least half. I would recommend that.

True.
