:Idunno: Have decided I need an intake and shark injector. All those with these mods, please post combo you're running. I contacted Tunerworks about a Shark and ECIS intake, but they recommended the Conforti instead. Price for each is $499 CDN. Good deal? Help me out E46ers.

I just got my Shark Injector recently for US$345 and a used Conforti intake. It won't make much difference whether you get ECIS or Conforti intake. Any short ram heat shielded style intakes give similar effect. I used a K&N cone with short pipe and Racing Dynamics shield and it sounded and felt just like the Conforti I replaced it with.

Yeah...the conforti and the ECIS is pretty much the same. $499 each sounds high. Check around for better prices. :)

Oh, one more thing... please do a search on e46fanatics regarding the Shark for 330.
During my research, I got the impression that there's not much hp/torque left to squeeze out of the 325/330. The Shark and other brand of software mods apparently make a big difference on 323/328 but not on 325/330.
Of course this is just my interpretation from all the searches I did since I don't have first hand knowledge with Sharking a 330/325. If anyone has first hand experience and disagrees with me then that's fine but if you only wish to flame my opinion please don't bother because mine is simply an opinion and not based on facts.
What I can tell you though is that the Shark made a big difference on my 323i :)
In my research on 330 is the same. Not much result. That is why I never wanted the upgrade software.

The major difference between Conforti and ECIS is the filter. Conforti used ITG reticulated foam filters and ECIS uses the K&N gauze type filters. The foam filters are supposed to retain flow better when dirty and capture smaller dirt particles than the oil/gauze filters...I'm more inclined to stick with the ITG filters because dirt inside an engine is a very bad thing...
