Both pulled for halo install, but left one on intermittently. Stumped?
Any ideas?

The connection is probably still touching when you go over some bumps, etc. Check the plugs to the DRLs and make sure they haven't re-connected them selves. I had this problem at first but lossened the connectors a little more. :)

will do...I remember Hannice pulling the plug clearly. It seems to defy scientific logic...:)

Pull it out a little bit more then wrap a little strip electrical tape around the connectors just to keep them from contacting.
The things we do for halos

I doubt BMW went to even greater lengths to build in an independent power source for those lights. Check it out. Also, maybe it just looked like it was on with the backwash from the HALOS shining back into the dome housing.

I took out the drivers side connector twice. Maybe the connector is different and the contacts are very close or open :Idunno:

The sensor for the light is a little wonky. Are you physically seeing the daytime running light come on, or are you just going by the dash indicator?
When I first start my car, the right light appears to be on in the display, but physically, it is not on.

Agreed- The dash lights need to cycle through so sometimes it shows that they are on for a bit until it registers the problem and reads a fault.

I wonder if the computer stores a fault code for the light bulbs being out ????

Oh man...that would be a pain. ON any diagnostic, there would be thousands of fault codes stored up.

Yup..sound like you need to disconnect and maybe tape it up to make sure no dirt gets in there.

all it is is that the wiring harness is falling back over the bulb and igniting the bulb...just do what eric said and put some electrical tape over the harness...problem solved
