What do you guys use for winter mats? This will be my first winter with me E46 Touring and haven't decided whether to get OEM winter mats or some Weathertechs.
Would love to know what you use.
Thanks

i agree it is shallow...i went to the dealership and got the originals. they look good though...it gives it a nice touch in the car.
bmw came out with new rubber mats ... the grooves are much deeper ... i have them on my car and they seem good so far but haven't test it out in winter yet ... i agree the old ones are useless

I've heard of these newer, deeper ones. How much were they?
I may only get a pair for the front since I found a pair of pants-savers in my parents' garage that fit well in the back.
I got the weathertech ones. Deep grooves and look to be very durable. A bit pricey but I think it should last a while. Also got the rubber trunk mat which is awesome.

I have the OEM rubber mats which I agree kinda s***** for Canadian winters. If by chance I drive through this winter, I would get something better for the front seats.

I have been tempted by the Weathertech ones especially since I came across a Canadian version of the Weathertech web page. How does it fit on the driver's side with the throttle pedal coming off the floor? Did you have to cut it?

Yes you have to cut it to fit. They have these guide for you to cut along. I don't remember the throttle pedal being a problem but I'll have to double check tonight. I like it way more than the bmw oem ones.

OK - Would you have had supper by the time you roll into town? There's a good chance I may still be in a restaurant having supper depending on the time you roll into town. You're more than welcome to sit down with us (30 person dinner at a Greek restaurant on Park Avenue). Let me know.

No, Mythos Ouzeri - more or less across the street from Milos. Mythos is a very fun restaurant to eat at and you've got good authentic Greek food there.
Was that $150 for just the front pair or the set of 4? Also, are you talking about the new deeper ones?

I've heard of Mythos, I'll give it a try someday.
It was $150 for all 4 mats. The deep grooved rubber ones. Got them at Jalbert.
the newer bmw rubber mats cost around $160 tax in at the dealership ... it kind of looks like the weather tech one but fits perfectly

Do you have a picture of it? Also, do you know if they sell only the fronts?
These OEM ones may be a better deal. According to the Weathertech site (http://www.weathertechcanada.com) the set of 4 is $150.90 + 15 shipping and I suppose + tax.
The OEM at $160 tax in sounds like a better price.
i can take a picture tommorrow ... yes they sell the front and rear seperatly so u can just get the front

That's a little out of my way. I'll have to hit a local dealer and check it out.

Asmodeus, did you join the BMW Club of Quebec? I asked the parts guy at Canbec if they offered a discount to members just like the US dealers offer to the BMW Club of America members. He told me that they did so I joined using an online form in late August. I have as yet to receive anything in the mail and the BMW Club of Quebec guys have been very slow to respond.

i joined club quebec for a year, but didn't really find any use to it.
I still get the 15% discount though. Probably because i'm always buying stuff at the parts department.

I just went to my BMW dealer today to inquire about these winter mats. About a month ago, I told them i wanted to purchase the new winter mats that i saw on the US website, but they said they weren't available...and they gave me the ones with the shallow grooves instead. Today, I went back to see if i could switch them for these new ones that you are all talking about! but i couldn't return them....so i ended up buying the new ones for 20% off....
anyway...I'm now stuck with two different types of mats (actually, 3 mats if you count my velour mats). Does anyone still need the parts number for the new ones...cause you definitely don't want to get the wrong ones.
I guess i'll just keep the shallow ones for the fall/spring...they do look nice. If anyone is interested in buying them off me, let me know.

I called Canbec here in Montreal and the price I got for both front and back mats was 142.75. That includes a BMW Quebec membership discount of 15%.
