I read around and this is a good method to take off the tint if you want a new one...

- Preferred on a sunny hot day
- Use windex and spray a lot of it over the tinted class (do not clean off)
- Use a big garbage bag and put it over the sprayed tint part
- Let the car sit for about 30 minutes...
- When it passes 30 minutes, go to the car and check by trying to peel off a little (if the tint comes off with the garbage bag) if not, just wait another 10 minutes or so.
- If it does stick, pull in one consntant motion from the edge. It should come off in one piece
- Afterwards you need to clean off the glue on your glass, Use 3m Adhesive remover

Did you try this? If so did you have any problems with the rear defrost strips.

I heard the rear is a pain due to the defroster strips, and if you you mess those up, then you are in a whole lot of trouble. When I was getting my tint done, they were re-doing a Golf, they were using a ice scraper to get the glue off on the inside of the window. You would be suprised how much there was.

yeah this should not be a good method for the rear windows.
