Had a blast at Dunnville this past Saturday. Hopefully my skills are improving. Having a friend who is a hardcore car nut and autoXer in the car (he didn't drive, just sat as a passenger all day) and another great driver with an M3 vert to follow really helped and I think I really learned a lot.

Sitting in the M3, my car's handling limitations are readily apparent. Tires I know are one thing, but I'm not sure I'm going to go much wider. I'm 225/17 PS2 all around. I also have UUC sways, dialled to neutral. What I really liked about the M3 was how quick the side to side transitions were. Since I already have the A/M sway, I'm thinking stiffer springs next? I think shocks would help the ability to keep the tires to the ground, but it's the springs that would help with the lateral motion right? I don't think I have the coin to do the shocks in any event.

If springs are a good next step, what would a good compromise spring be? I want stiffer, but not bone-jarring stiff. Wifey thinks the suspension is stiff enough...

Thoughts?

Well, track season is coming to an end soon, so I would save up over winter and do springs and shocks. If you are happy with UUC, they have spring and shock combos. I would really do both, you will be much happier in the long run, and notice a bigger improvement.

Would the H&R Cupkit do the trick for the track? Anyone have this setup and track?

J.D has this setup but I don't think he has ever tracked it. You can't go wrong with matched springs and shocks like the cup kit but they are not adjustable.

H&R has a kit, so does Eibach, and UUC off the top of my head.
