Can 17 x 7 rims use 225/45/17 tires?
From what I see on the Michelin spec 225/45/17 tires' rim width range is supposed to be 7.0 - 8.5.
Can someone confirm? Is there any danger using a size right on the range limit?
225 is best for 7.5 wheel. 7 is fine too. 8.5 is a little wide but it will fit still. These are from stock 330.

Yup, Gary is right. 227 on a 7" wide wheel is
You are in no danger if you are in the upper ranges of wheel width either.

as long as you are in the range of recommended rim width you are ok. depending on what you are doing, if you are not tracking the car, remember there are manufacturer tolerances also built into these ranges.
you will be fine for the size.
