I have two little notches torn in the vinyl on my passenger side door. Can anyone recommend a place to have this fixed? Something in Mississauga would be great.

How about paintless dent removal? I just noticed about 3 or 4 minor indentations on the hood of the car which I find very strange (no scratches, just dents). Hardly noticeable unless you look at it right, but it bugs me knowing that they are there. Again, I'm wondering if there's something in Mississauga.

Are these fixes something that can be done during a lunch hour (separately of course)?

Dent Removal:

Dent Clinic - Mississauga
#5, 1380 Matheson Blvd E., Mississauga, Ontario L4W 4P8
Phone: 905.212.1266

Ask for Jim and let him know you are from e46toronto.ca for a good deal. Chris sets up PDR clinics once in a while but you just missed one about 10 days ago.

Is the vinyl textured? Are the notches very minute scratches, or gouges?

From my experience, I've never seen a perfect repair on textured vinyl.

Good luck!

Yeah, the inside of the vinyl is textured as it is in most cars I believe. The damage looks like someone poked a pencil tip into it at angle. There are two small cuts like this right next to each other. The area is very small, so unless they have to affect a large area to repair it, I doubt you would even notice a slight change in pattern.

At the dealership (Town & Country), one of the salesmen said they have a vinyl repair guy who comes around and he actually has some sort of iron or tool that attempts to imprint the pattern in various models/years of can. I just don't want to have to bring my car all the way down there if there was someone closer and recommended by the forum members.

I contacted Fibrenew (http://www.fibrenew.com/) to have my vinyl repaired. They provide on-site service so Dean showed up at my work this morning and repaired my door in the parking lot. He also touched up a few scuff marks on the door likely caused by the seat belt. It probably took about 20 minutes or so... and it was d**n cold and windy out there.

I'm happy with the work. The edge of the repair is somewhat visible if you look for it, but you would never notice it otherwise. Here are some before and after photos... I think the repair looks decent even under the harsh light of the flash. It's far less noticeable under normal lighting... particularly the car's dim internal lighting.

Regardless, it's certainly far better than seeing those two holes. The doors need a good cleaning now.

It's interesting that the sections of vinyl appear to be two different colors in the after photos.

Dropped off my car this morning at the Dent Clinic on Matheson and picked it up after lunch.

The dents are simply gone... nice job! Friendly guys too...

They also gave me a discount for the forum referral. Thanks my0gr81...

I think it was $70 flat. He repaired the holes and touched-up here and there.

I've seen a blog from some other guy who worked for Fibrenew in the States and it was incredible what they good do to revive worn leather and fabrics.

Ah! I found it again... check out some of these repairs:

Damn. Upon first looking at your repair, I wasn't 'blown' away at the results. However, after carefully looking at it throughly, along with the repairs in your link, I'm quite impressed to say the least. Sure beats living with an eyesore or buying new panels! Price ain't too bad either with the convenience of them coming to you!

I approve!

Exactly. I used to cringe every time I looked over at the door and saw the little holes... now I don't even think about it any more. It may not be perfect but it won't catch your eye either.

Slowly I have been getting rid of, or diminishing, the untreated eye sores on this car. My wife now wonders why I bothered buying a used car in the first place! :)

Call Simply Imports 905.631.2886 in Burlington, they have a call guy (British bloke) who does fantastic work (cash deals) and is a perfectionist. If the dent repair isn't almost perfect, he does not charge for it.

LDNA: Yeah, I just called the closest franchise... left a message and their tech called me to schedule an appointment.

Canuck73... where was that referral a few weeks ago?! ;)
