I was thinking that in the Spring and Summer months we should have DIY days. Meaning, that we have meets where we have one person who is very good at a DIY teach the rest of us. I know I would benefit greatly from such days.
Examples.
1. Brake pad swap.
2. Oil and filter change.
3. Detailing
4. Quick wheel swap.
5. Angel eye install
You get the picture.

That's a great idea.
You could do the oil change one, I remember you posted a step by step a while back.
We could even have a "storing the car for winter" one now as many of you guys do store your BMWs in the cold months.

there are many that could do those two better than myself, but if the day happens I'd love to show up and help. but mostly I'd like to learn.

hmmm I'd be quite interested in something like that, especially being a n00b and relatively unfamiliar with managing my car - thanks in advance!
As far as hosting any sessions go, however, I think you might be able to count me out lol..

I get them every now and then.
If we had a garage with a hoist, that would be champ. But I think a driveway a with a few jacks is what we are gonna have to live with.

cool. we should a set a date and a place all those guys going to the track probably want to get final touches before track day.
Nice idea!
I have not met anyone yet, but I would love to attend one of the DIY meets. I can help with brakes, suspension, fluid changes (coolant, oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid), exhaust installs, basic bolt on installs and such.
I can also offer my garage if the timing is right:

If this is something people are interested in, and we can get a spot, I am going to be doing my brakes (rotors & pads) as well as a few other general items in spring (suspension possibly).

I would be interested in seeing the suspension work.
I did my pads & rotors, if any1 is interested.
Thanks
I'd be interested in seeing brakes and angel eyes installs done, as well as suspension work. I could help with the oil/filter changes.
Also I'd bring my Michelin 3 1/2 ton speed jack and stands so we can get more cars in the air.
Great idea Stalker, let's hope we can make it work this year!
