I am considering using light weight battery next year. I heard name like Optima and Odyssey, and I need some inputs.
Any brand/model that you guys recommend?
How much weight saving can I expect?
Are they one size fit all?
Where can I get them in Canada?

I have an Optima in my 944S2. They weigh about 33lb for a 720CCA battery vs 56lb for the OEM battery.
They are not one size fits all. You have to make sure the posts are on the right side of the battery etc...
No probs with a spiral cell in the winter.
You can get Optima at Performance Improvements. I would guess the Canadian Tire version might be made by Optima.

I got my Optima battery from Wal-Mart, the red-top one, but the price went up since I got my $160, now around $220.

@Pej, This is for track, so cold weather is not my concern
@Dave, I will drop by CTC and check those out
I did some investigations last night and found a lot of peoples are using this Odyssey PC680MJT battery.

Weight: 15.4lbs !!
For like $200 max, you can shave 20-30lbs, I think it is a good deal.
Thoughts?
P.S. I am going to make a new signature like what Rost did woot

...Thoughts?...> 17 amp hours
> 525 cranking amps for 20 seconds
My thoughts. If you get this battery keep a set of really good jumper cables in your car and pull the battery every winter.
