Hi, I have a 2001 325xi with 135k. I've been noticing that the ride quality is decresing a bit and I would like to get my ride quality back, also I would i like to lower my ride height just a bit(due to xi's being higher).
Does any body have and ideas/suggestions on what to buy for a "butter smooth" ride with lowering your car??? type of shocks/springs setups??brands??
any help would be great!

Hey Freshin,
I've been running OEM non-sport shocks and H&R sport with 19's for a year and a half... and despite what many people were saying in the beginning that it would be harsh ride... it is not. What makes it harsh is continuously hitting railroad tracks and potholes.
But I have been extemely happy with my setup and hitting stretches of the 401 west of Toronto is like riding on rails. woot
Although this year I will replace shocks to bilsteins.. so I don't know how that will be.
Here's the drop.

I because you have 135,000 km would suggest the H&R cup kit it includes new struts, springs and shocks so everything will be new.

i would do a shock spring set up as well. your ride may not feel worst with just springs, but your handling will suffer. in most cases, shittier than stock since your shocks arent valved for the lower springs.
H&R is a popular option, or you can go for eibach springs and koni shocks. i find this set up pretty decent in terms of comfort/performance.
