When: Tuesday, February 20th, 2007. This gives time for others to work out their schedule, get passes from their wifey's to leave the house etc.
Time: 8pm
I will call them later today and finalize the price. It will be regular price until we decide to make this a regular meet in which I can work out with the owner for better group pricing. I want to make sure you guys like the place though first.

We don't need to look for a place to eat either, cause they have a a very decent menu to order from.

Ok. Heres the details.

For our first trial session at GPKartways,

We're getting a 2 for 1 deal.
It's $10 for a yearly membership & belaclava.
And $25 for 2 sessions.
Each session consists of a approx. 16 laps.
We're being setup in a Grand Prix style (practice/qualifying/finals).
Total $35.

There are helmets there already, but if you have your own, bring your own.

If you guys like it, after the sessions, let me know your honest opinions and suggestions. And we can take it from there. I will negotiate all the pricing and packaging them.

We can do this every Tuesday or every other Tuesday seeing as that's what most seem to be ok with. There are different formats like LeMans style etc. We can figure that out if you guys like it.

No fumes compared to gas karts in general but my nose is still burning from the sulfuric acid fumes given off during the battery recharge they did before our 2nd session.

That was brutal. If they do that again I'm gonna evacuate until the charging is done. :sick:

The electric karts were fast when the batteries were fully charged. :-) I think I would take the gas of smell instead of the wrotten egg smell wow that was strong.... really cheap though which is awesome. I'll definetely try to come out next time. Good to see you all again.

I think those electrical karts were the fastest rental karts
I've tried so far. Acceleration seems to be close to racing
kart with 4 cycle 200cc Honda engine. I heard maximum speed
is 45, but I didn't hear was it miles or kilometers per hour.
Anyone can clarify ? These karts don't brake as good as racing
karts though, probably some kind of inertia from electric motor.
But in terms of acceleration, when battery is fully charged,
they are good.

I always get bruises on inside of my knees from hitting
steering column in my racing kart. I got similar ones
yesterday, which also kind of proves these electrical karts
are more closer to racing karts then most other rentals.

I'm down for every 2 weeks for sure.

I think mine was 27.14 or 27.41.

acceleration was great. loads of torque, unlike the gas rental karts. I found the throttle control was excellent... was actually modulating the throttle mid corner to move the kart around and while I was doing was thinkin "wow, can't do this with gas rentals..."

thought it was great the seats could adjust as well for height. I'm thinking next time I will try to move it more forward to distribute weight more to the front for less understeer...great grip nevertheless.

They didnt have markers on the ground, and for some reason, I doubt they will line us up.
We could use the first race as a qualifier and use our best lap times from that for grid position in the 2nd race.

I have tender spots all over my back. I think I'll get the 'kiddie seat' foam insert next time. The seats felt better than the ones a Formula kartways. Didn't really notice it until today...I guess I'm getting old...

No hard feelings Pej. It was a good clean check into the boards. :}: I had too much inertia. I actually hit the brakes when I saw you drift left. I think you guys are right, the electric motors still seem to keep momentum when initailly getting on the brakes.

I think my best time was 26.60. That was with constant battling for position with Glen. Neither of us could drive the 'perfect' line because the other would get track advantage and pass. Negotiating lap traffic while trying to overtake or protect the lead was a lot of fun.

Funny everyone is mentioning the significant others. This morning the missus was upset that I never invite her to karting. The funny thing is she hates to drive (actually hasn't driven in years).

hhahha. it would be extremely interesting to see. I think it would be like watching little kids play soccer all move together towards the ball but no one passing.

I only got 7 laps and last 2 were on dying battery. 2nd race would be more
accurate. And then as somebody said their system is just "not so accurate".
They should do a better job with timing next time.

yah, I suspected it as soon as I saw Neil at the top of the grid. It was his first time and he's also a new driver, so no way that could be his time since he was driving very cautiously and letting everybody pass...

...there is no way those are correct. I was in kart 14 in the first race and Jeff was 1 position ahead of me in kart 8.

In my 2nd race I had a slower kart and several guys passed me.

2nd race, then it seems to fall in place (except that names are
mixed up). I recall Glen was 1st on the grid in kart #22, then
was me, I guess in #17, then was Geos in kart #8, then ... put
your kart numbers here.

Who was in kart #16 in 2nd race ? He got the best time I think.

So, result should look like this, I think
