Hey guys. Who else here replaced their OEM fogs beside Chopper? My friend said my fog lights is not very bright at all. I was thinking of maybe changing the bulbs but was wondering if there are other alternative. Chopper is it true that the bulbs are hell to change?

it should be quite easy to change...
i changed mine long time ago and it's simple...

i bet changing bulbs on a M-Tech bumper will be even easier...

Ok since Bluesky said it's easy to change. What is a good bulb to put into the fog lights? You guys think white light for fog would be good? I want it to be useful in foggy weather rather than just look good :)

white light is not good for fogs...
white light is good for road illumination...

if u want the light to emit through the fog... YELLOW or ION bulbs are the only way to go...

There is a good yellow bulb at Canadian tire that is great for fog use. I forgot which one though...

YEllows are good for fog use as the light wont refract as much through the mist/fog and disperse your light. Bright whites are good for running with only your HALOs during the day/morning/dusk cause they look cool.

I only said it was hell to change because my lower bumper trim gave me lots of trouble to remove because it got stuck or something. As terms of steps, it's fairly easy...just make sure you have strong fingers!!

Hmmm....so the bottom line is that the OEM fog light is good then because it's yellow :(
Dang I guess I'll have to decide to either to have good looking fog (bright white) or good fog lights (keep it OEM yellow).

YEah...nothing wrong with having really powerful yellow fogs if you need them for fog driving.

Also dont forget that the HIDs are quite good even in the fog, so our need for yellow fogs is not as great here. :)

why don't you just keep them ...and then change it when it burns out? I know they're not as bright as the white ones...but they're alright..they make a difference in foggy weather conditions. it was extremely foggy yesterday, did you see a difference? I did.

I have SPP super white on fog and planning to put powerful golden yellow bulb for DRL. So I can have the best of both world! :D BTW, I think xenon is not good for fog, actually white light is not good for fog so hid shouldn't be good for fog.

True- white refracts more but the intensity of the HID really helps keep more light hitting the road, etc to light the way. It's still much better that the normal halogen headlights on regular cars.

Not everything we do is for increased safety (ex - tinting). Looks is a factor too. Just because white is not as good as yellow, it doesnt mean it's garbage, especially if it is significantly brighter than the stock bulbs.. :)

YEah, there's a bunch on-line. Depends on which model car you have.

I found and used the coupe DIY with help from the Bentley Manual. :)

I dont know how often you use the fogs D, but waiting for the stock ones to blow out could take many years!! That's a long time. :(

really? a couple of years..that's durable...I use them all the time at night. I just thought that if it's still working, why spend money on new bulbs. I was gonna wait for mine to burn out to consider a white light...or something to match with my headlight later on.

All the time? Doesn't that annoy other drivers? Im not sure you are supposed to have two sets of running lights on at the same time without cause?? Hmmm...

Well, for mods, bulbs dont cost that much and its nice to match the lights coming from your car, especially if you have gotten rid of all the yellow/amber from your car already. Waiting for them to blow out seems like waiting for your amber indicators to be broken to replace with clears. It's the looks!! :D

White or xenon fogs are a must have if you are running halos. :D

Plus what Chopper said, fogs are a cheap mod that looks good.

Yeah..me too. SO long as the DRLs are disabled so there is no uneccessary dobling of running lights durign the day. It loks cool.

Are the SPPs brighter than the PIAA Xtreme Force HyperWhites? :)

I don't think it annoys other drivers...it's not as strong as high-beams of course. I don't get annoyed if someone behind me has fogs on :) I don't think it's 'illegal' to have fogs on when it's a clear night....there are vehicles where fogs are automatically turned on when you turn your night lights on.

REally? I guess they want our bulbs to burn out more. I'm gonna run my HyperWhite fogs a lot more then!! Maybe my highbeams too (oops - none) :D
