Hey guys
As in my previous post, the mod was a success!! I have received now my eyebrows for the car, so Im going to add that on and it will be smoking hot!! :D str8pimp
The best part of this mod is everyone notices it, especially after I turn off the car. The halos stay on for 10-60 seconds and everyone in the parking lot see's em. Ive had people just drop their jaws, stare at my car as I pull out, lots of compliments. Big risk = Big Reward.
Anyways, I finally got the cable to upload pictures. But it's Friday night and Im planning on going out in 20 minutes to Tonic.. you'll see 2 bmws probably high rollin in, modded out to the tits :D ...so I took a few pics quickly and uploaded it. My camera is crap.
I do plan on doin a nice photo shoot next weekend with a more sophisticated camera.
Enjoy!! Will get more soon!

Raining. I whipped off the rain off the plexi glass later and took more shots.

WHOAAAAA...adrian...that looks so sweeeeet. :D so basically no moisture is getting in..is the headlight all secure again? you gotta come out to one of the meets!!! I'd love to see them live!! What's the colour of your halos...are they more white than blue? i noticed there is no tinge of blue as compared to some of the other halos. that's a cool pick of the lights baking in the oven...it looks like one eye is undergoing surgery :p

Thanks dieselgirl! Glad you like em! =) And no moisture is getting in. Secured nice and tightly. Ive been driving it everywhere through so many different weather conditions, ie: yesterday HARD raining and the halos are just sooo beautiful. The colour of the halos actually match the colour of the xenons. I think it's just the camera sucks and cant take quality pictures. As for the baking... that was a freaky time. I spent 1 hour in front of the oven thinking "Should I be really doing this??"

hahhahaha. id love to help but right now school is killing me. Im loaded up with tests every week right up to exams. I definetely will be more then willing to give advice. I wish my camera didnt die on me while I was installing it. I would've made a nice, big fat DIY.
To everyone else, thanks for the compliments!! Anyways, I leave you guys with 2 more pictures. This time, i got my eyebrows installed.

yeh, how would you go about doing that? That sounds like something that needs to be programmed by dealership?? You think they would allow it??

Locate the inner head lights from under the hoods. You'll see a harness plug plugged into the head light, (it should be the lights closest to the kidney grill, not your xenons) carefully lift a small little tab that holds the harness in to the bulb socket and pull. There shouldn't be a problem pulling it out as your car is relatively new so there won't be a lot of dirt/crust keeping it together.
After unplugging them, just wrap the harness and seal it. Use black electric tape to prevent moisture/water from gettin in when you do an engine wash.
Now it will show on your dash that your DRL's are disconnected. you get used to it. You also have the option of getting them reprogrammed so it won't show on the dash. PM me for details.
**The dealership will not re-program this for you due to laws re: DRL.

Sounds cool. Got any pics of how the cable might look like? You're taking to a guy who is mechanically "challenged" if that's a nice way to put it. With the DRL not working, can the xenons still operate along with high beams?

u will lose the regular hi-beam but u can still use the "bi-xenon"...
u will be able to get full utlization of high-beams if you reprogramm it...

I think you will be...rice and I are leaning towards 'no' halos after yesterday's talk...i know everything worked out for you and I'm glad for you!!...but we're both afraid of that baking business cause if something goes wrong...it's $1500 per headlight unit!! :Qboy:

I completely understand.. like said before, I stood in front of that oven for an hour contemplating my decision.
But you just need to:
1. Remove all 3 bulbs. The turn signal, low beam, xenon. Make sure not to touch the bulbs cause of the coating, etc etc. Our manuals contain the step by step instructions.
2. You have a ballast to remove. It's silver on the bottom of the headlight.
3. There is a cover you take off to get access to your low beam and high beam. I left them off.
4. Make sure to do it at 200F not 200 C like i ALMOST did =)
After that, took 40 minutes and I was set to remove the plexiglass..
Best thing I recommend is to e-mail Matt from Umnitza or post questions on e46fanatics.com. The reason why it took me so long is because I waited for replies before doing anything that I wasn't 100% sure on.

hey this is an amazing DIY....thanks for your balls to be the first..hehe
i have been emailed a couple of times from people asking me to help them out with an 04 install...adrian maybe you could help us out one day and guide us in the right direction seeing as though you are the first and only one to have done it so far on the board??
Nice work man. That is the most difficult mod I've seen.
