Hi guys,

I just got mine and want to install it asap before the car gets stored for the winter.

Let me know if you're in and we can try to set up a group price.

ambasah, are you setting up a group install or setting up a group buy for a group install. Clarify please.

He's setting up a "group install"

I've got an appointment on Monday at Cross, so depending on where you get the "group install," I might be interested

I have no idea what it is, but I'm up for helping out, Sanjai...we are doing my mirror install next Friday (I think), with Sunapollo, Chris, Ron, etc...why don't we do your install at the same time? Is there a playhouse available?

sorry for not being more specific.

I have no idea how to install this myself (even with the directions) and want to leave it to an expert.

I was hoping we could have a list of people who want it done and then I would shop around for the best price.

By the way, did everyone also buy the DSSR? I didn't know anything about it when I placed my order and am considering it now. Any thoughts?

How much is Cross charging for the install ?

Gilman Auto quote me $80 for SSK and $100 for SSK + DSSR. They are close to Scarborough Town center. They have been installed quite a few set of UUC SSK for E36 & E46.

mine should be arriving today at some point. my uncle is going to help me install it...depending on how ez it is perhaps i can arrange for him or myself to take care of the rest of you. having said that though, if u already have appointments and are anxious to get it done, by all means keep your appointment.

as for playhouse availability, B is...just not as early on friday as you guys were planning...propose what you would like to do.

I received my EVO3 last week but it didn't have the DSSR that I ordered. sheefo2k told me that it will ship from UUC directly but I still haven't get it yet. So ne1 have the same problem? :Qboy:

Most of us get the kit from Mperformance.com (sheefo2k from E46Fan). I paid $480US shipped for a set of EVO3 & DSSR. I paid $32 brokerage & duty.

since Christyles is setting up a garage, how about a group install. I can come watch, laugh and see the action up close...it's not supposed to be that difficult is it?

thx! since I have a 04 330ci 6speed, there's no dssr available yet. I found a shop which is in Calgary, they're selling the EVO3 for 413CAD shipped.. sounds like a good price?

The UUC Short Shift Kit is up to the 3rd evolution. There also is a DSSR (forget what it stood for) that elminates slop. If you go to the UUCMotorwerks web site you can read all about them.

The short shift kit ranks up there with the GruppeM CAI and the Shark as the top three performance oriented mods that people do.

Hey,

Those of you who received the SSK from Sheefo2K, how were you shipped the item? Was it UPS? He's convincing me that he always used it and managed to make it so that there were no extra charges.

How were you shipped the SSK and did you get dinged with brokerage fees?

ambasah

I paid about $25 in shipping/brokerage (without DSSR).

every time, I mean EVERY time I have used UPS, I got dinged for brokerage and duties. So far every time I have used Fedex, I have not...there's no magic to that...UPS sucks!!!

I may try that trick to do customs clearance on my own. I don't mind paying taxes, sort of, but it's the UPS brokerage fees I don't like.

No, fedex left my Volks on my front yard even without ring my bell! If my next door didn't call me that I have 4 big box of wheels sitting in my front door, my volks will be already on some1 car! well... than I may not need to spent $500 to repair them.... :indiffere BTW, the good things is I won't pay the borkerage and duty once they mail me the bill! :blaaaa:

Man! I went to install my SSK & DSSR today. We found out that the DSSR that I got is for E36 328i after the SSK on!  Now my shifter is even more damn notchy & sloppy than the stock, actually, is the worst feel I ever get? The shifter can move left to right for about 50 degree even in gear! :confused2  :crying: NE1 feel the same with SSK but no DSSR? NE1 also get the wrong DSSR from Sheefo2k? if yes, we can ship it back together.

had the EVO3 installed today, without DSSR, cause they don't have one available for 330ci 6speed yet.. i have to say now it DOES require much more effort to shift, but definitely short!! alot!!

Did your shifter able to move left and right for a big amount even on gear? Would you able to meet this weekend?

Problem solved! woot It is because the pivot brushing was missing on due to the stock selector rod was too big to squeece in to the brushing (out of spec BMW parts  ). Suppose, I was intended to install both EVO3 and DSSR together but they found out that the I got the wrong DSSR(the vendor sent me the one for E36  ) after they put the EVO3 on. So they need to put the stock selector rod back and they were afraid the brushing will damage or not able to remove in the future if they froce the stock rod into the brushing, so they just left out the brushing and that cause the problem. Now after sanding out the stock rod and with some wd40, the stock rod can push in to the brushing without ne problem. Too bad is I still need to wait for the correct DSSR to come in order to feel the full experience of the EVO3. woot

good for you :) how do you feel about the shifter then? it requires alot more efforts to shift imo, probably double the OEM...

It seems like 3X effort to shift now, maybe because my car is already 5yr old. Well, I dun mind it take more effort to shift once it is smooth and not sloppy. My car used to shift like driving an rental truck! long, tall, notchy, sloppy, 30% of times can't go to 1st, 1st to 2nd always sounds like breaking something...etc. Now, the shift is way stiffer, 1st to 2nd is a lot better, feel very short throw but still notchy and sloppy. Hope DSSR can solve this.
