I'll be ordering sparkplugs this month, if anybody else is in, sign up. It is free shipping over $150. Either NGK Iridiums or Denso Iridiums. I'm ordering from Clubplug.net.

It's a set price but at least we all save on shipping.

ok...

STEP 1
Here's the link to find out what NGK plug you need.
http://www.ngksparkplugs.ca/partfinder/carstrucks.cfm

STEP 2
Once you find out your NGK part number, enter it in the top right hand corner of this page... http://www.clubplug.net/canada/index.html .... it will give you a list of NGK plugs with the $CAD pricing of each plug.

STEP 3
Please follow the format I have listed, (USER NAME, SPARKPLUG PART #, QTY)

Orders above $150CAD is free shipping. They charge $8.95 to ship 1- 17 sparkplugs. So we'd need minimum 3 people to participate to get free shipping.

Spark plug buy ends May 16 11pm. And I will place orders on the morning of May 17. All payments must be submitted no later than May 16 11pm.
Cash only.

What did you order.

I ordered NGK because BMW is using the NGK iridiums now. Denso supposedly have a thinner wire which makes for easier sparking...I'll stick to what BMW uses.

Just installed them today, took about 40 mins...easy job.

btw guys, tightening torque is 17ft/lbs for the sparks.

Any diff. in the car...idle, rev smoothness, power, etc...?

Did you see any excessive carbon buildup? What isthe recommended plug interval - 100K or 160K

I think they change them at inspection II, so around 80 to 100K.

no real difference so that means my engine was perfect before and plugs were working as they should. good to know as well since I have never changed the plugs since I got the car new in '02. just nice to know I have nice shiny new plugs in there just the same though... :)

That's encouraging to hear. Since you track your car frequently, I like to hear that your engine is holding up well to above-avg load. It means that these S54 engines are built to not only perform, but survive intense use.

40 min huh? Would you say it's pretty std, like swapping plugs in a Honda?
