We have a full day at Shannonville coming up in a couple of weeks. It will be nice since it's a Saturday. Run the same format as how Pej does it. Let me know if any of you are interested.

Details for the next event:
Where : Shannonville Motorsport Park (Full Layout)
When : Saturday May 26th 2007
9am - 5pm (Drivers meeting at 8:45am)
Cost : $220 including BBQ Lunch

It will be a fun day with a lot of track time, with the usual alternating run groups in the morning then open lapping after lunch. Point by Passing in designated areas, #1 priority is safety so check your egos at the door.

Im gonna be last minute on this event. Lately I have been getting crazy shifts...no one wants to switch either. Amit, I let you know when I know.

Well, all I have to say for myself is that I lapsed back into my "dry hot day" driving style on a wet and cold morning.

After a careful and well driven session, I started feeling good about myself... right up to the point when I had too much speed, braked too late and in the wrong place ("dry line" in the wet = no grip)... so there I was, going into the gravel doing over 160 at the back end straight of Mosport (coming to corner 8).

Funny how wet grass actually makes your car go faster :eek:

I drove the car back, so it seems to be limited to cosmetic damage to the underbody and left side rims. I'll know more tomorrow.

Lesson of the day: don't get distracted by pretty trees zooming by when you're on the track, stupid. Hope I learned it well.

Rost: oh my. I had a similar experience at Mosport in the wet last summer but thankfully caught it in time. I'm glad you're ok, that place is really the killer. My really close friend Shel was there today too in the Black MINI. He is one of the guys that co-own the Radical that they are supposed to be running. Did you get a chance to meet him? He'll be at Shannonville with us.

Mosport is definately one place you want to keep something in reserve with respect to the limit. It will spit you out and eat the next car for breakfast if you don't.

Well, apart from 4 plastic panels to replace underneath the car, most painful damage is done to the drivers door and the panel just after it (quarter panel?). No bends/dings, just plenty of scratches from the gravel. Wheels are ok structurally, but will have to refinish 'em.

Realistically, for the speed I was going, I got off easy. Paint job is gonna cost me a pretty penny, but they're just scratches...

I'm gonna take it easy the rest of the summer :Qboy: I just remembered that my other hobby, photography, is a heck of a lot cheaper and safer :D

Great pics Rost! I left my camera at home so I didn't get a chance to take any. The Aston only had 800 miles on it so it was still detuned. They bump up the power at 1500 miles and then again at 4500 miles. He wasn't really pushing the car but the sound....oh the sound...
