Sometimes it takes a little while to process. It would be unusual not to get a spot booking this early.

yup, it would suck.
I need an instructor for the weekend, so Im sure that adds to the trouble aswell.

They have quite a few instructors there.

Everyone gets an instructor regardless of run group. The instructors a free to sign you off to go solo once they have been on track with you and either they think you are OK or are too afraid to be in the car with you. :p

I take it your are not instructing then?
If you are, let me know.

I did an hour of laps there today and saw an E30 M3 just like yours there. Was that you?

This was my first time at a track and I must say it was awesome! The adrenalin rush was unbelievable and I swear I'm still feeling the endorphins running through my system!

Bluedragon suggested I try it; now I know why. I think I found a new hobby!

What the heck? You should drop by and say hi. And yes, that was GeoS and I parked beside him as well.

Good to hear that you are having fun.

If I'd known you were from here I would have, but I had the only e46 on the track except this sic pro-racing M3 with like $250k in it. Other than you and this other crazy Corvette, it was a total 911 convention!

I was there with John Powell who was leading me around the track. Powell was in a blue supercharged Ion, followed by me in a silver e46, followed by my Dad and brother in a silver Corvette. Did you see us?

What a rush! I couldn't believe the lateral g's my little 323i could pull. It's only stock with a sport package, but the damn thing sticks! I used to think that I couldn't have fun on the track without an M3, not true, these cars are built for speed!

Following Powell totally gave me the courage to push the envelope (being followed by my little brother in my Dad's '06 vette didn't hurt either :) . Powell sets up radios in your car and shows you the track's optimal path by leading you all the way. It's so easy! When he brakes you brake, when he hits it, you hit it. After following Powell for a few laps you start to get in the zone, you begin to feel the path of the various turns and really start to fly.

The first few laps we were being passed constantly, but by the second 1/2 hour we were only passed once and that was with three 911's on my ass! I can't emphasize enough how helpful it is playing follow the leader with somebody who knows every centimeter of the track. I strongly recommend it!

The feeling is pretty incredible when you're balls out on a turn and the wheels start to scream and the car doesn't still lose it! I've played racing video games all my life and I swear it helped me, but the feeling is so much more intense.

As you can see, I loved it! Now all I have to do is convince the wife to let me do this more often. The best argument I can think of is, it's the best way to get the speeding out of your system, track costs will be more than offset by my reduced fines and insurance rates! ;)

P.S. don't speed on your way into the track, I saw a guy get burned by radar less than 1k from the mosport entrance!

If you are, let me know.Nope not an instructor, I just part of the rif-raf.

The E30 is classic. It is also old unfortunately, I can show the parts invoices to prove it. :}:

Yeah that was Webbie and myself at Mosport. It was a great day. The E46 pro car was fast! They were doing some testing in advance of the ALMS race weekend coming up. That car was just out of the shop after a crash in a previous race. I initially wondered why the bodywork / paint looked so good.

It definitely is a rush... I am completely hooked and am squeezing in track days all over now. Had Shannonville last weekend and Dunnville this weekend. I am bailing on the BMW track day because I can't get out of work that day now. Way too important of a day for us.

What was going on at Mosport? Was it that school (forget the name)? Is it any good? I may book it for Sept...

BRG88 performance driving school (http://www.group88.ca/driving/).

Very well run. Lots of track time. We had only 10 cars in our run group, including the race / pro cars.

...and speaking of Mosport...accepted status now for the Sept school.

I was getting worried for a bit.
First time out at Mosport, finally. Signed up for 2 or 3 events there, and something always came up in the past.
