Just for Jersey :blaaaa: , let's start a new thread on the Power Window thing.
Quickid, I just wondered if the auto down was not shutting down properly and the clicking was the motor still running. Is it like a relay click, or does it seem to be coming from the motor assembly? How about if you press the button while the click is happening?
Chris , you have this problem as well?
As for tips, no real specific ones. The panels are very rigid so you shouldn't have any troubles there. Some DIYs have said that the snap clips will break, but I haven't experienced that (yet). The inside door handle is connected in an interesting way (you'll see what I mean). The biggie is pulling the inner seal panel off - it is attached with black goo, and it you pull it will stretch the panel. I used an Olfa knife and cut the black stuff down the middle as I gently pulled back on the panel, and afterwards it seemed to reattach OK.

It does sound like the motor is still trying to pull the window down. And it's a single tick at a time and it's random so I don't get a chance to press the button when it happens.

Yes. I can hear it and it sounds like something is wrong but appears to operate normally. However I do get those friggin streaks everytime I put my windows up/down. And it doesnt easily come off either.

I had the same problem after some jerk slammed my passenger door really hard...by PUSHING SOLELY ON THE GLASS (Coupe- frameless windows)!!  Immediately afterwards, when I opened/closed the window, I wold hear a click somewhere near the midway point. I checked the fit and the glass seemed mis-aligned a little. I got streaks too because the window was off-centre when opening.
The dealership (Parkview) looked at it and replaced the regulator and the noise was gone, although I am not sure the window is still fitted exactly as it was before. Hope that helps.
Always make sure your passengers know how to close a door properly, especially if you have frameless windows- or dont let them in!.

Streaks...inside or outside glass? Man, we better look at that before you tint!

Hey Chopper, dod Parkview cover your window regulator under warranty? Cause mine wasnt and I had all that bs coverage.
I try to avoid having passengers unelss i know they're as anal as I am. no offense to the Bimmerwives, but i think female passengers are the worst cause they don't care too much about cars unless they're like Jessica.
They scuff the door sills and trim with their heels, their long-ass nails scratch the area behind the door handle, they put their purses & handbags on the the roof thus scratching the roof... and the list goes on. :(

Mine wasn't!!! It's interesting to know how the staff at dealerships "really" decide if something should be covered or not. i still belieive some of my repairs shold have been covered even though they weren't.
But it doesn't matter. My warranty is done and I'm not returning to them either. Especially now confirming that your window reg was covered and mine wasnt.

Chopper was on the nose on the clicking sound on the window going about half way down. I had the same problem recently and I took it to budds and the problem was the regulator. 4 yr/80 k warranty will cover it. However, extended warranty or certified series vehicles warranty would not cover it. It's a good thing that I have some COOLnections @ Budds AND THEY TOOK CARE OF THE PARTS needed replacing and a very good rate on labor cost.
When they replace your regulator obviously they will re-allign your window set up...
